{"id":48625,"date":"2025-04-25T06:06:11","date_gmt":"2025-04-25T06:06:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/48625\/"},"modified":"2025-04-25T06:06:11","modified_gmt":"2025-04-25T06:06:11","slug":"poll-of-the-day-are-britains-police-officers-being-let-down-by-their-leaders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/48625\/","title":{"rendered":"POLL OF THE DAY: Are Britain\u2019s police officers being let down by their leaders?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">A record number of experienced officers are quitting UK policing, with former Home Secretary Suella Braverman claiming that this is due to a &#8220;failure of leadership at the top&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Her comments come as South Australia Police launch a campaign to recruit hundreds of disillusioned British bobbies, with a delegation arriving in the UK this week for a series of recruitment sessions in key cities over the next fortnight.<\/p>\n<p>There has already been keen interest, as increasing numbers of British officers leave the service, citing low morale, poor pay and conditions, and a lack of respect.<\/p>\n<p>Braverman told GB News she believes people are turning their back on the force due to leadership &#8220;failures&#8221;, as well the intuition becoming \u201cparalysed to a large degree by bureaucracy and paperwork&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>She said that whilst she understands why British police officers are &#8220;going through a crisis of confidence&#8221;, the loss of coppers on the street is &#8220;very worrying&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We won&#8217;t have the police officers to respond to violent incidents, to riots, we won&#8217;t have the resource to be deployed when there are problems.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>With that in mind, do you think Britain&#8217;s police officers are being let down by their leaders?
