A woman has admitted killing 10 dogs using a poison she was testing out after being accused of murdering<\/a> an elderly man with a toxic bean stew.<\/p>\n

Police chief Halisson Ideiao has described Ana Paula Veloso as a \u201cpsychopath\u201d and a serial killer\u201d after she allegedly killed pensioner Neil Correa da Silva in Baixada Fluminense, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil<\/a>, by giving him a poisoned bean stew. Detectives also believe that Veloso carried out the killing along with the victim\u2019s daughter Michele Paiva da Silva who is claimed to have paid for her to come from Guarulhos to Rio to help with the assassination.<\/p>\n

Both Veloso and Paiva da Silva are in police custody and are being linked to a further three murders. Mr Halisson said: \u201cShe confesses that she killed 10 dogs<\/a> with this poison, testing the method and the timing.<\/p>\n

“She knew exactly how long, the dosage, and what would happen to the people who consumed what she offered.” It came after police had found terbufos at the home of Veloso which is a pesticide which is slightly milder than lead.<\/p>\n

The investigation has also led to police in Sao Paulo speaking to Veloso\u2019s twin sister Roberta with Mr Halisson saying: \u201cShe also actively participated in Neil\u2019s death providing moral and material assistance,\u201d reported G1.<\/a><\/p>\n

The victim\u2019s daughter Michele Paiva da Silva, 42, a law student was arrested outside the Engenho Novo University in Rio on Tuesday. Neil, 65, died at the Adao Pereira Nunes Municipal Hospital on April 26 and his body has been exhumed for a forensic examination to see if he was poisoned.<\/p>\n

Police have alleged that the father and daughter didn’t have a good relationship while both Ana and Michele, who are described as friends, were at house when he became ill and he was taken to hospital. Phone messages exchanged between the pair have since been found where they discussed poisoning Mr Correa da Silva.<\/p>\n

And police are also linking the death of the pensioner to three other poisonings in in Guarulhos, which they now believe to have been carried out by Veloso and Paiva da Silva. “Ana Paula poisoned four people, including Neil, on Michelle\u2019s orders,\u201d claimed Mr Halisson.<\/p>\n

He added that Veloso had come to the attention of the police after she alleged she had been the victim of an attempted cake poisoning but detectives believe this was an attempt to frame someone else.<\/p>\n

Mr Halisson stated: “Ana Paula Veloso came to our police station because of an alleged poisoned cake inside a college. She planted this alleged poisoned cake to try to frame a third person .
