{"id":487245,"date":"2025-10-10T02:47:11","date_gmt":"2025-10-10T02:47:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/487245\/"},"modified":"2025-10-10T02:47:11","modified_gmt":"2025-10-10T02:47:11","slug":"prince-harry-makes-surprise-nyc-appearance-to-highlight-mental-health","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/487245\/","title":{"rendered":"Prince Harry makes surprise NYC appearance to highlight mental health"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/sussexroyal\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prince Harry<\/a> unexpectedly <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/prince-harry-makes-surprise-appearance-nyc-highlight-mens-health-crisis-us-11825979\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">popped up in New York City<\/a> this week, making a surprise visit to further his mental health advocacy work.<\/p>\n<p>The Duke of Sussex, who took the trip with his wife, Meghan Markle, arrived in town to accept the Humanitarians of the Year Award at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.projecthealthyminds.com\/gala-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Project Healthy Minds\u2019 annual gala<\/a>\u00a0on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The day before, the royal couple made an unannounced appearance at an event hosted by the Movember organization as it launched its <a href=\"https:\/\/us.movember.com\/movember-institute\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Institute of Men\u2019s Health<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>While speaking about his own mental health journey, Prince Harry opened up about why he advocates for men to seek therapy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI found myself speaking to many veterans and sitting down with them I <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marieclaire.com\/celebrity\/royals\/prince-harry-surprise-appearance-movember-reception-men-health-nyc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">realized the silence is killing people,<\/a>\u201d he said. \u201cStamping out the stigma globally, we\u2019ve come a long way. [But] access to therapy is still a massive problem.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Moderated by journalist Brooke Baldwin, the discussion explored Prince Harry\u2019s experience as a British Army veteran and what inspired him to speak out on the topic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I speak to men, the same struggles keep coming up, which tells me that the weight they carry isn\u2019t uncommon,\u201d he said. \u201cThe biggest barrier is the belief that no one will understand.
