King Charles III<\/strong><\/a> and Prince William<\/strong><\/a> are clearing the air.<\/p>\n

The monarch and his eldest son stepped out for a rare official engagement together for the Countdown to COP30 event at the Natural History Museum in London Oct. 9. <\/p>\n

For the outing, Charles and William\u2014whose wives Queen Camilla<\/strong><\/a> and Kate Middleton<\/strong><\/a> did not join them\u2014both sported navy suits as they posed outside of the museum, before heading inside to meet with government leaders and advocates working to combat climate change. The event comes ahead of the COP30 World Leaders Summit in Bel\u00e9m, Brazil, on Nov. 6, which William will attend on behalf of his father.<\/p>\n

The king and Prince of Wales last publicly appeared together during President Donald Trump<\/strong><\/a> and First Lady Melania Trump<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s Sept. 17 State visit at Windsor Castle. The day before, the royal family attended the memorial service<\/a> for the late Queen Elizabeth II<\/strong>\u2019s first cousin Katharine, Duchess of Kent<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Amid the rare string of public appearances, William has shared insight<\/a> into how difficult the past year has been for the royal family, alluding to how he managed his royal duties as his dad and wife each faced cancer diagnoses. <\/p>\n

“I\u2019d say 2024 was the hardest year I\u2019ve ever had,” the 43-year-old said on the Oct. 3 episode of the Apple TV+ show The Reluctant Traveler. “You know, life is sent to test us as well, and being able to overcome that is what makes us who we are.”<\/p>\n

He also emphasized the toll of raising his and Kate\u2019s three young children Prince George<\/strong>, 12, Princess Charlotte<\/strong>, 10, and Prince Louis<\/strong>, 7.<\/p>\n

The heir apparent also made a brief reference<\/a> to his brother Prince Harry<\/strong><\/a>\u2014from whom he has been estranged<\/a> in recent years\u2014while discussing his son George\u2019s future role as king.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are lots of things to think about with that,\u201d William continued in the episode. \u201cBut obviously, I want to create a world in which my son is proud of what we do, a world and a job that actually does impact people\u2019s lives for the better.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cThat is caveated with, I hope we don\u2019t go back to some of the practices in the past, that Harry and I had to grow up in and I\u2019ll do everything I can to make sure we don\u2019t regress in that situation.\u201d<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Ferguson said the virtual correspondence was written after a threat made to her by Epstein. <\/p>\n

His and Meghan Markle\u2019s security was lessened after they stepped back as working members of the royal family in 2021 and moved to the United States. However, in the years that followed, Harry had requested security while visiting the U.K. <\/p>\n

The Duke of Sussex told the BBC May 2 that he was \u201cdevastated\u201d about losing his legal battle. He emphasized, \u201cI can\u2019t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point.\u201d<\/p>\n
