{"id":488483,"date":"2025-10-10T13:57:18","date_gmt":"2025-10-10T13:57:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/488483\/"},"modified":"2025-10-10T13:57:18","modified_gmt":"2025-10-10T13:57:18","slug":"cambridgeshire-county-councillor-denies-election-crime","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/488483\/","title":{"rendered":"Cambridgeshire county councillor denies election crime"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><b class=\"ssrcss-1xjjfut-BoldText e5tfeyi3\">A county councillor has pleaded not guilty after being charged with an electoral law offence.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Andy Osborn, 74, who is a member of Cambridgeshire County Council, appeared at Westminster Magistrates&#8217; Court on Thursday charged with making or publishing a false statement before or during an election in relation to the candidate&#8217;s personal character or conduct, under the Representation of the People Act 1983.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Mr Osborn, who was elected as the Reform UK representative for Roman Bank and Peckover in May, will next appear in court on 17 October for a case management hearing. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Reform UK has been approached for comment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A county councillor has pleaded not guilty after being charged with an electoral law offence.
