Victoria Beckham, who will star in a new Netflix documentary this week, enjoys a friendship with King Charles after meeting the Monarch on several occasions alongside her husband, David<\/p>\n

Victoria Beckham once firmly rejected King Charles III’s<\/a> proposal that she and David Beckham<\/a> could collaborate on a musical duet.<\/p>\n

The tale dates back to 2000, when Victoria made her debut as a solo performer at Party in the Park. Victoria<\/a> is capturing attention once more this week following the launch of her new Netflix show.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, she dominated the headlines 25 years ago at the gathering in London’s Hyde<\/a> Park to generate money for the Prince’s Trust charity. Victoria was unveiling her fresh material alongside legends such as Sir Elton John and Christina Aguilera while King Charles, who was then a Prince, observed from the audience.<\/p>\n

The King subsequently seized the chance to speak with several of the acts backstage, including the performer previously recognised as Posh Spice. Victoria said: “I was telling him [The King] how I was really nervous about performing because this was the first time I’ve appeared before 100,000 people.”<\/p>\n

Bluntly dismissing the King’s proposal that David might accompany her for a performance of one of her tracks, Victoria continued: “He asked me how Brooklyn (her and David’s son) was getting on, and then he asked if David and I had any plans to do a duet. I said, ‘No way’ to that.”<\/p>\n

Victoria has remained a familiar face ever since exploding onto the music scene with the Spice Girls in 1996. Following the group’s dissolution in 2001, she moved into fashion and established her inaugural label in 2008 before diversifying her empire to encompass premium accessories.<\/p>\n

Victoria Beckham Beauty subsequently emerged. Victoria and David have subsequently built relationships with the King and other members of the Royal Family<\/a> following numerous encounters throughout the years.<\/p>\n

In 2024, David was named as an ambassador for the King’s Foundation, the charitable organisation that operates Highgrove, and has even conducted private discussions with Charles.<\/p>\n

David received his knighthood in June this year.<\/a> He also captured public attention when he waited for 13 hours to view the Queen’s coffin<\/a> lying in state after her passing in 2022.<\/p>\n

Victoria has attended Royal weddings and received an OBE in 2017. On the occasion of the King’s coronation in May 2023, the former Spice Girl shared a collection of photographs on social media featuring herself alongside King Charles.<\/p>\n

In the images, Victoria and her fellow Spice Girls beamed as they encountered the then-Prince of Wales. In another photograph, she clasped hands with a young Prince Harry.<\/p>\n

She wrote alongside the pictures: “I have so many fond memories of meeting His Majesty throughout my career, and he is always so supportive and kind. Today is a truly historic day, and I’m incredibly humbled to celebrate King Charles III and Queen Camilla as they embark on their new roles.”<\/p>\n

Victoria’s partnership with former Manchester United<\/a> legend David has also endured, with the pair remaining one of the globe’s most powerful couples<\/a> for nearly three decades. Victoria is currently featured in a three-part documentary series on Netflix, where she is anticipated to reveal insights into their enduring relationship.<\/p>\n

The programme is the brainchild of the Emmy award-winning team behind the series Beckham, which spotlighted her spouse. In the documentary’s trailer, Victoria teases viewers with a sneak peek of what to expect.<\/p>\n

“That uncool kid at school that was awkward, that was me,” she revealed. “But I desperately wanted to be liked [and] have a sense of worth.”<\/p>\n

The fashion mogul further discusses how style became a “creative outlet” for her when she wasn’t initially taken seriously, with many merely viewing her as a pop star wedded to a footballer.<\/p>\n
