The undefeated, five-for-five filly won the G2 Zenyatta Stakes at Santa Anita on Sept. 28 by 1 \u00be lengths over her stablemate Richi. The Zenyatta was Cavalieri\u2019s first start since a victory in the G1 B. Wayne Hughes Beholder Mile in early March at Santa Anita. She also won January\u2019s G3 La Canada Stakes at the Arcadia, Calif., track.<\/p>\n
Bred in Kentucky by Alastar Thoroughbred Co., Cavalieri was a $900,000 auction purchase from Wavertree Stables at the OBS Spring Sale of 2-year-olds in training.<\/p>\n
All of Cavalieri\u2019s victories have come from on or near the lead. Trainer Bob Baffert still has G1 Clement Hirsch Stakes winner Seismic Beauty in contention for the Distaff.<\/p>\n
