More arrests have been made after two men were assaulted with a metal pole during a violent racist attack in Bristol<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The attack, which left one man with a broken jaw, a fractured eye socket and internal injuries, was carried out in Sarah Street, Lawrence Hill<\/a>, at around 7.35pm on Monday, September 22.<\/p>\n

The two victims were also racially abused during the incident<\/a>.<\/p>\n

They were attacked by four men, police say, some of whom left the area following the attack.<\/p>\n

Avon and Somerset Police have confirmed that two men have been arrested in connection with the attack in the last few days.<\/p>\n

One man was arrested late last month.<\/p>\n

The three suspects, in their 20s and 30s, were all arrested on suspicion of racially or religiously aggravated assault causing grievous bodily harm.<\/p>\n

The first was arrested on Tuesday, September 30, the second on Wednesday, October 8, and the third yesterday on Thursday, October 9.<\/p>\n

All have since been released on conditional police bail while the investigation into the incident continues.<\/p>\n

Neighbourhood Chief Inspector Serena Serjeant said: “Such violence and hate has no place in our city. We continue to work with our CID colleagues to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.<\/p>\n

“We’re also continuing to support the communities most affected by this vile behaviour, and to keep people informed of the progress we’re making.”<\/p>\n
