{"id":489948,"date":"2025-10-11T03:08:18","date_gmt":"2025-10-11T03:08:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/489948\/"},"modified":"2025-10-11T03:08:18","modified_gmt":"2025-10-11T03:08:18","slug":"police-hunting-driver-after-van-hit-bridge-in-glasgow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/489948\/","title":{"rendered":"Police hunting driver after van hit bridge in Glasgow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n  Following the incident, officers revealed that the driver of the van had left the scene, and they have launched an investigation to track them down.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   style=\"width: 100%;\"\/>(Image: Network Rail)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  After the crash, Network Rail said some train services from Glasgow Central had been suspended.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  The travel firm announced that no trains were running on the Argyle Line from Glasgow Central low-level.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  They said trains were axed after a van struck a bridge parapet above the railway line near Bridgeton.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  <img   style=\"width: 100%;\"\/>(Image: Network Rail)\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Following the crash, Network Rail said it was &#8216;unsafe&#8217; to run trains; however, they said engineers were working to repair the damage as soon as possible.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  They also shared images from the scene, which showed a van submerged into a wall in the area.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  Network Rail said: &#8220;As you can see, the bridge parapet has been damaged significantly, with a large amount of debris falling onto the railway below.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  &#8220;Our priority is to make the bridge safe and remove the debris so we can get trains running again.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\n  At 8.03am on Friday, Network Rail confirmed that engineers had completed work to make the railway safe, allowing trains to run in the area again.\n<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p>\n    \u26d4\ufe0f Services through Glasgow Central low-level (the Argyle Line) are suspended.<\/p>\n<p>This is due to a van striking and damaging a bridge parapet above the railway near Dalmarnock, meaning it\u2019s unsafe to run trains.
