The most desirable neighbourhoods in Greater Manchester <\/a>that will give you the ‘best quality of life’ have been revealed.<\/p>\n New data from Liveable has now uncovered the most ‘liveable places’ to live in the region in 2025.<\/p>\n Following the ‘London Banana’, showing the capital’s best places to live, Liveable has now revealed the ‘Manchester T’ – a T-shaped corridor that defines Manchester’s most sought-after areas.<\/p>\n The Manchester T has been identified using the Liveable Score, a data-driven measure of local desirability.<\/p>\n Sign up to our Manchester property newsletter <\/strong>here<\/strong><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n Based primarily on UK Census data, the score considers factors such as home ownership, education, employment levels, and occupational class (NS-SEC).<\/p>\n Liveable’s algorithm maps results at a hyper-local level, revealing patterns of desirability that are invisible in broader statistics.<\/p>\n Due to their desirability, these 12 areas have some of the highest house prices across the region.<\/p>\n The analysis shows that Manchester’s highest-scoring neighbourhoods cluster in a striking “T” shape, running from Ancoats and Deansgate<\/a> through to Altrincham<\/a>, with a southern stem extending through Didsbury<\/a> and out to Bramhall<\/a>.<\/p>\n “The Manchester T shows how desirability tends to cluster and spread. When certain areas become established as the best places to live, neighbouring communities often benefit too,” says Andrew Hammond, founder of Liveable.<\/p>\n “For anyone choosing where to move, being within or near the T is a great choice for long-term liveability.”<\/p>\n Here are the region’s most desirable neighbourhoods that form the Manchester T, with their scores and average house prices.<\/strong><\/p>\n Altrincham<\/p>\n Liveable score: B+<\/strong><\/p>\n Altrincham is a popular market town in Trafford<\/a> with excellent transport links and modern amenities.<\/p>\n It has an average house price of \u00a3587,672 and has its own station both with Metrolink<\/a> and rail links.<\/p>\n Liveable score: A<\/strong><\/p>\n The trendy urban quarter in Manchester boasts canal-side living and an eclectic food and drink scene.<\/p>\n The average cost of a home in Ancoats is around \u00a3381,354 and the nearest Metrolink station is New Islington.<\/p>\n Bowdon<\/p>\n Liveable score: B+<\/strong><\/p>\n The leafy suburb in Trafford offers an idyllic location with some of the region’s most expensive period properties and modern abodes.<\/p>\n Bowdon has an average house price of \u00a3645,508 and the closest Metrolink and railway station is Altrincham.<\/p>\n Bramhall<\/p>\n Liveable score: B+<\/strong><\/p>\n Bramhall is an affluent village in Stockport<\/a> with a vibrant village centre and a picturesque park.<\/p>\n The average property price in the area is \u00a3440,526 and the village has its own railway station.<\/p>\n Liveable score: B+<\/strong><\/p>\n Brooklands is a quiet residential area in Trafford with a Metrolink with easy access into Manchester.<\/p>\n The average house price here is \u00a3394,456.<\/p>\n Cheadle Hulme<\/p>\n Liveable score: B+<\/strong><\/p>\n The leafy suburb in Stockport boasts attractive properties, a blend of traditional and modern living and a good shopping district.<\/p>\n It has its own train station and has an average house price of \u00a3407,835.<\/p>\n Chorlton<\/p>\n Liveable score: A<\/strong><\/p>\n Manchester’s bohemian suburb is filled with independent eateries, bars, shops, caf\u00e9s and boasts a vibrant arts scene.<\/p>\n Chorlton<\/a> has an average house price of \u00a3447,741 and has its own Metrolink.<\/p>\n Liveable score: A<\/strong><\/p>\n Chorlton’s even more expensive neighbour has a popular village feel with top-rated schools and green spaces.<\/p>\n It has the East & West Didsbury and Didsbury Village Metrolink and an average property price of \u00a3576,468.<\/p>\n Hale<\/p>\n![](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/0_LIVEABLE-MANCHESTER-T-HIGHLIGHT.jpg\")
