Three men were found guilty of attempted murder this week<\/p>\n

Members of the public “almost certainly” saved a man’s life after a stabbing on Gloucester Road <\/a>almost two years ago, police have said. The attack, which happened on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, left the victim, a man from Fishponds, now 24, with life-changing injuries.<\/p>\n

The victim had gone for a meal with friends at a restaurant in Gloucester Road, Bishopston, before the attack happened. On Thursday, October 9, three men were found guilty of attempted murder, following a trial at Bristol Crown Court.<\/p>\n

Reuben Fay, 20, of Lockleaze; Tayshon Graham, 21, of Easton<\/a>, and Cain Henderson, 24, of Eastville, were found guilty of attempted murder. The jury was told Graham and Fay entered the same restaurant with Edwards, keeping their hoods up, and sat down for just one minute, before leaving.<\/p>\n

About forty minutes later, they returned to Gloucester Road, now with Henderson, and pursued the victim and his friends as they were leaving the restaurant.<\/p>\n

Tragically, the victim tripped and fell in Bishop Road. He was stabbed repeatedly \u2013 at least seven times \u2013 where he lay. He suffered a brain injury, and multiple significant wounds to his face, neck, shoulder, arm, chest and buttock.<\/p>\n

Avon and Somerset Police have said that the actions of the public helped save the victim’s life. In a statement, police said: “Detectives believe the prompt actions of members of the public at the scene, calling the emergency services and providing first aid, almost certainly helped to save the victim\u2019s life.<\/p>\n

“Medics initially described his injuries as life-threatening. He survived, but has been left with long-term, life changing injuries. Remarkably, he was recovering at home within five months of the attack.”<\/p>\n

Detective Chief Inspector Jess Aston said: “This attack was targeted and planned, and three of those responsible attempted to evade justice by leaving Bristol almost immediately.<\/p>\n

“It has taken months of painstaking investigation to reach this point. We\u2019re determined to make sure that those who cause such serious harm will be brought before the courts.
