accident near Cookstown on Friday morning<\/a>.<\/p>\nIt happened on the Pomeroy Road shortly after 6.45am.<\/p>\n
A woman who was injured in the accident was taken to hospital, police said.<\/p>\n
Mr Lagan worked at J&B Engineering in Cookstown.<\/p>\n
It said: \u201cThomas was an integral part of J&B Engineering, known not only for his exceptional work ethic but also for his kindness, warmth, and quiet nature.<\/p>\n
\u201cHis contributions to our team and his positive spirit will be greatly missed by everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur thoughts are with Thomas\u2019s family, especially Thomas\u2019s brother James, our colleague; his brother Daniel, a former employee; his friends, and all those who loved him during this difficult time.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe will always be remembered as a cherished member of the J&B Engineering family.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mr Lagan was a former pupil at Holy Trinity College in Cookstown.<\/p>\n
Friends described him as \u201ca gentle giant\u201d with a heart of gold who always had a smile on his face.<\/p>\n
Another said simply: \u201cForever 21\u201d.<\/p>\n
Police have appealed for information on what happened.<\/p>\n
Inspector Cherith Adair from the PSNI\u2019s Collision Investigation Unit said: \u201cShortly after 6.45am, we received a report of a collision involving a grey Seat Leon and a grey Volkswagen Bora on the Pomeroy Road.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur officers attended alongside emergency service partners, however the male driver of one of the vehicles was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.<\/p>\n
\u201cA woman was also transferred to hospital for treatment for her injuries.”<\/p>\n
