But this was rejected by members following a ballot on Monday, April 14.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Earlier this week, Unite said the council had &#8220;failed again&#8221; to confirm if intends to cut the pay of hundreds of bin drivers by up to \u00a38,000.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: \u201cWe could be in touching distance of a deal but <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/all-about\/birmingham-city-council\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Birmingham City Council<\/a> is again guilty of saying one thing in public and another in the negotiations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cThis flip flopping needs to be sorted prior to the Acas negotiations next week, so the dispute can be resolved and end the uncertainty for workers and the misery for <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.birminghammail.co.uk\/\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Birmingham<\/a> residents.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">\u201cThe threats of savage pay cuts must also now cease for drivers. Unite has put forward workable proposals. The ball is now in the council&#8217;s court.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The city council said: &#8220;Negotiations are ongoing and are positive.
