The event, hosted by the <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/manchester-city-centre\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Manchester City Centre<\/a> Business Improvement District, features games, storytelling, and the bone-rattling Monster Party Procession, complete with giant puppet monsters, stilt walkers, and a live band.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Keep your eyes peeled for the iconic inflatable MCR Monsters which pop up across the city, perched on top of buildings. They will be on display from Saturday 25 &#8211; Friday 31 October 2025 inclusive, in locations such as Manchester Arndale, Kampus and AO Arena.<\/p>\n<p>Go pumpkin-picking<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Pumpkins are synonymous with autumn and Halloween and while you can buy them from the supermarket, it\u2019s even more exciting to pick them yourself &#8211; and kids will love it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">There are lots of places in and around Manchester where you can pick your own pumpkins, many of which are running dedicated events to this autumnal tradition. The Warehouse Project kicked off on September 6 and runs until November 22, at Depot Mayfield.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">The likes of Annie Mac, Dom Dolla, Aitch, The Blessed Madonna, Confidence Man, Sammy Virji and Leftfield all set to play iconic sets across three months.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">The series of shows will conclude with a special Ha\u00e7ienda takeover on November 22 which will be headlined by Primal Scream and Masters at Work, alongside performances from Groove Armada, David Morales, Todd Terry, A Guy Called Gerald and DJ Paulette.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Among the tickets still available are the Overmono night on October 18, Confidence Man on October 24 and Nia Archives on November 15.<\/p>\n<p>Embark on a spooky light trail for Halloween<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">As the nights draw in and the ghouls come out to play, what better way to mark spooky season than with a magical light trail. <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/whats-on\/whats-on-news\/historic-mill-near-manchester-airport-32434236\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">This year Quarry Bank Mill is putting on an impressive display with projections, fire shows, creepy experiences and even a Headless Horseman<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">The trail will run from October 23 to November 1 and will include 3.5m tall giant skeletons and a field of 50 gravestones. There will be projections on the old mill\u2019s walls and inside the mill building itself, the sinister Georgian Mill Owner will await those who dare to venture. The mill\u2019s water-wheel, which spans thirty-two feet in diameter, will also feature bones and skeletons with red mist rising from below.<\/p>\n<p>Experience a new exhibition as the Power Hall reopens at The Science and Industry Museum<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/0_JRP_MEN_061025_power_004JPG.jpg\" alt=\"The Power Hall at Science and Industry \" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>The Power Hall at Science and Industry (Image: Jason Roberts \/Manchester Evening News)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">The Power Hall at The Science and Industry Museum is reopening following its closure in 2019 for refurbishment. Originally built as a shipping shed for the world\u2019s first inter-city steam powered passenger railway, the Grade II listed building was first used by the museum in September 1983, when it became home to one of the UK\u2019s largest collections of historic working engines.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\"><a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/whats-on\/family-kids-news\/science-industry-museum-announces-power-32549037\" target=\"_self\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">After urgent repairs and an extensive refurbishment, it will open its doors once more on Friday, October 17 and will showcase a unique collection of historic 19th and early 20th century working engines, powered by 21st century, carbon-neutral infrastructure.<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">There will also be interactive features and activities, many of which are designed to inspire young minds and fuel curiosity. Visits to Power Hall are free and included as part of a free museum ticket.<\/p>\n<p>Watch magical displays for Bonfire Night<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Bonfire Night is a much-loved tradition and a celebration which lights up November\u2019s dark skies. Alexandra Park in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/oldham\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Oldham<\/a> is known for its breathtaking autumn colours, while <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/chorlton\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Chorlton<\/a> Water Park is also impressive if you fancy a waterside stroll.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">If you\u2019re in the city centre be sure to enjoy a stroll through Castlefield and along the canal where you\u2019ll be able to see pretty autumn colours in an urban setting.<\/p>\n<p>Get in touch with your creative side at the Manchester Art Fair<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Every year Manchester hosts one of the largest art fairs in the UK with more than 160 exhibitors gathering together at <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/all-about\/manchester-central\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Manchester Central<\/a>. This year it takes place on Saturday 22 to Sunday November 23, with a preview night on Friday November 21.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">The fairs features galleries and artists showcasing their works and is designed not just for collectors but for anyone who has an interest in art. As well as the exhibits, there will be talks, immersive experiences and workshops too.<\/p>\n<p>See a musical or catch a play<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/0_Royal-Exchange-Theatre.jpg\" alt=\"Manchester\u2019s Royal Exchange Theatre \" loading=\"lazy\"  \/>Manchester\u2019s Royal Exchange Theatre (Image: Manchester Evening News)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">It can be easy to spend another night on the sofa as the evenings grow darker, but peel yourself away from the TV and go and see a live show instead. In the coming weeks the Palace Theatre has an excellent selection of musicals, including Sunny Afternoon from October 11 to October 18, Fiddler on the Roof from October 21 to November 1, and Miss Saigon from November 4 to November 15.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">At the Opera House, you can catch Victoria Wood&#8217;s Acorn Antiques the Musical from November 2 to November 16 and Fawlty Towers &#8211; The Play, from November 4 to November 8. At the Royal Exchange Theatre you can see Dancing at Lughnasa, a play about five sisters set in Donegal, which is on from October 10 to November 8; then from November 29 Singin\u2019 In The Rain begins its residency until January 18.<\/p>\n<p>Go to a gig<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">We&#8217;re lucky to have some incredible venues right on our doorstep hosting some of the biggest names in music. In October Co-op Live features the likes of Little Simz, A.R. Rahman, Bensoon Boone, Tom Odell, Haim and Duran Duran, while in November you can see Richard Ashcroft, JLS, Five and more.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"men\">Over at AO Arena, McFly and Busted are playing two dates on October 17 and 18, while Marti Pellow will take to the stage later in the month.
