Rangers bosses are currently engaged in talks with several managerial candidates – including former Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard<\/a> and Danny Rohl who are both being considered.<\/p>\n

Ibrox decision-makers Andrew Cavenagh and Paraag Marathe have been conducting meetings with various potential appointments throughout the week.<\/p>\n

As Record Sport disclosed, the club’s American ownership held preliminary discussions with 2020\/21 title-winning manager Gerrard in London on Thursday.<\/p>\n

The selection process will carry on over the weekend as senior figures outline their future vision for the Light Blues.<\/p>\n

Sky Sports claims that meetings with Gerrard – who remains receptive to a Govan comeback – have “progressed well” during the past 48 hours, reports the Daily Record<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, the manager who prevented Celtic from achieving ten-in-a-row and secured Gers’ sole league title in the past 14 years isn’t the sole contender being assessed.<\/p>\n

Former Sheffield Wednesday manager Danny Rohl has similarly encountered Cavenagh and his team in recent days, with Sky stating he has “impressed” Ibrox powerbrokers and remains a serious candidate for the position.<\/p>\n

The well-regarded German departed crisis-hit Wednesday in July following persistent financial difficulties at the financially-troubled Championship outfit.<\/p>\n

Rohl, 36, was connected with the Leicester City position following Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s summer exit and was previously approached regarding the Ibrox role before Russell Martin’s appointment.
