{"id":491989,"date":"2025-10-11T21:42:09","date_gmt":"2025-10-11T21:42:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/491989\/"},"modified":"2025-10-11T21:42:09","modified_gmt":"2025-10-11T21:42:09","slug":"gaza-sudan-ukraine-dominate-at-france-war-reporting-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/491989\/","title":{"rendered":"Gaza, Sudan, Ukraine dominate at France war reporting awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n      Friend and representative of Palestinian photographer Saher Alghorra takes a picture of the public at the award ceremony [Getty]<\/p>\n<p>The Palestinian photojournalist Saher Alghorra, from Zuma Press, on Saturday won first prize for photography at the prestigious Bayeux War Correspondents&#8217; Awards.<\/p>\n<p>Wolfgang Bauer (Zeit Magazin) won the top prize for print journalism, Maurine Mercier (RTS-RTBF) for radio, while Julie Dungelhoeff, James Andre and Sofia Amara (France 24) won for television.<\/p>\n<p>The conflicts in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newarab.com\/news\/journalists-renew-calls-israel-open-gaza-foreign-media\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gaza<\/a>, Ukraine and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newarab.com\/news\/sudan-60-killed-el-fasher-rsf-siege-attacks-intensify\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sudan<\/a> dominated the awards, which are now in their 32nd edition.<\/p>\n<p>Alghorra, who is still in Gaza, was recognised for his series &#8220;Trapped in Gaza: Between Fire and Famine&#8221;.
