4<\/p>\n A Capital Radio DJ has revealed a life-changing health diagnosis after \u2018delaying doctor for a lash appointment’ 4<\/p>\n Zofia Rogers is of Capital Dance fame<\/p>\n She wrote: \u201cHealth update: After months of appointments, tests, scans and investigations I finally have a diagnosis of MS (multiple sclerosis).\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cThis has come as a huge shock to me as I never expected it to be something like this, and I\u2019ll have to have lifelong treatment to manage my symptoms and make sure it doesn\u2019t get any worse.\u201d<\/p>\n She continued: “I’m really lucky that I’ve found it super early and I only had 2 lesions on my brain so hopefully with correct treatment it will stay at a mild level. <\/p>\n “Although I’m massively in shock at this outcome and it wasn’t something I was expecting, I’m also relieved to finally know what’s been making me feel so unwell for so long. “<\/p>\n The radio<\/a> star said she’s been referred to an MS specialist, who “will be able to get [her] started on treatment.” <\/p>\n She ended her poignant statement by saying: “I’d love to connect with other people who have MS as I’m still trying to learn and understand more of what it all looks like, and kind of wrap my head around it too.”<\/p>\n Zofia has presenting her Capital Dance show for over two years. <\/p>\n Before this, she was a DJ Promotions Assistant, and a Presenter on Select Radio. <\/p>\n She appeared from the Capital studio after sharing the news of her MS. <\/p>\n Talking to her doting fans, Zofia said: “Thank you so much for the messages about my last couple of stories. <\/p>\n New pop feud as original Sugababes take brutal swipe at former members after getting back together<\/p>\n “I really debated sharing this, but I really wanted to connect with some other people who are also going through a similar diagnosis, so that’s why I chose to share it and obviously it’s going to be part of my life so. ” <\/p>\n She also discussed what her first symptoms were, after saying a lot of people had asked her.<\/p>\n Continuing: “I will write something tomorrow where I’ve properly thought of everything.” <\/p>\n Zofia also told fans how she was “convinced nothing was wrong.” <\/p>\n What is multiple sclerosis (MS)?<\/p>\n Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a complex condition that affects the central nervous system, which includes the brain and spinal cord.\u00a0<\/p>\n It\u2019s an autoimmune disease, meaning the body\u2019s immune system mistakenly attacks the protective coating (myelin) around nerve fibres.\u00a0<\/p>\n This disrupts the flow of electrical signals and causes a range of symptoms that can vary wildly from person to person.\u00a0<\/p>\n The good news? MS isn\u2019t a death sentence, and with advances in treatment, many people live full and active lives.<\/p>\n In the UK, over 130,000 people are living with MS, and around 7,000 new cases are diagnosed each year.\u00a0<\/p>\n It\u2019s typically diagnosed in people in their 20s and 30s, with women three times more likely to develop it than men.\u00a0<\/p>\n Despite its challenges, many with MS find strength and resilience they never thought possible.<\/p>\n Common symptoms of MS are:<\/p>\n MS is unpredictable\u2014you might have periods of remission where symptoms vanish, followed by flare-ups when they return.\u00a0<\/p>\n This \u201con-again, off-again\u201d nature can be frustrating and means people can be in anticipation of a flare.\u00a0<\/p>\n While there\u2019s no cure yet, treatments like disease-modifying therapies (DMTs), physiotherapy, and lifestyle changes can help manage symptoms and slow progression.\u00a0<\/p>\n Sharing a photo in a hospital gown, she said: “I nearly cancelled my MRI scan because I couldn’t be bothered to take out my hair extensions as they had metal in them. <\/p>\n “And I delayed my consultant appointment because the last one they gave clashed with my lash appointment.
