Meghan Markle<\/a> and Prince Harry were believed to have annoyed Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, when they announced their baby news<\/a> on Princess Eugenie<\/a>\u2019s wedding day. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex found out they were pregnant with their first child, Prince Archie, when they were still working royals in 2018 – just months after their big Windsor wedding.<\/a><\/p>\n

However, their big news coincided with Harry\u2019s cousin Princess Eugenie<\/a>\u2019s wedding day, and perhaps even overshadowed it. While Harry and Meghan only told a few people at the wedding, the baby news was revealed soon after by Kensington Palace.<\/p>\n

According to royal authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, the decision “did not go down particularly well” with Eugenie.<\/p>\n

This announcement seemed to drown out news of Princess Eugenie<\/a>\u2019s wedding, much to the annoyance of Eugenie\u2019s mum, Sarah.<\/p>\n

While Sarah, 65, did not say as much, she did post a series of tweets about Eugenie and her husband<\/a> Jack Brooksbank\u2019s wedding, conveniently when Kensington Palace made Harry and Meghan\u2019s baby news public.<\/p>\n

It is believed this was a swipe at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, attempting to obscure their news with pictures of the wedding instead as insiders said Fergie was furious at the couple for outstaging her daughter.<\/p>\n

While Sarah may have seen the couple\u2019s pregnancy announcement timing as an inconvenience, Harry spoke in his memoir Spare about why he decided to tell his royal relatives on his cousin\u2019s wedding day.<\/p>\n

He wrote in his 2023 memoir: \u201cEuge was getting married, to Jack, and we were deliriously happy for them and for ourselves, selfishly, since Jack was one of our favourite people.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued: \u201cMeg and I were supposed to head off on our first official foreign tour as a married couple, but we delayed the departure several days, so we could be at the wedding.<\/p>\n

“Also, the various gatherings connected to the wedding would give us a chance to pull aside family members one by one and tell them our good news.\u201d<\/p>\n
