A man has died following a crash on a Welsh bridge. The crash took place on Saturday evening on the A548 Flintshire<\/a> Bridge in Connah’s Quay in Deeside. It has been described as a single-vehicle collision, involving a motorcycle.<\/p>\n Emergency services, including North Wales Police, were called to the scene, but tragically the man, who was riding the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n Officers have now begun investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, and have appealed for anyone with any information, or dashcam or CCTV footage, to come forward.<\/p>\n A statement from North Wales Police read: “We are appealing for witnesses and information after a man died following a road traffic collision on the Flintshire Bridge yesterday evening (Saturday, October 11).<\/p>\n “Shortly after 6pm our control room received a report of a single-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on the A548 in Connah\u2019s Quay, Deeside.<\/p>\n “The emergency services attended however sadly, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.”<\/p>\n Detective constable Donna Vernon of the serious collision investigation unit urged any witnesses to come forward.<\/p>\n She said: \u201cFirstly our thoughts remain with the man\u2019s family at this incredibly difficult time.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are appealing to anybody who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have witnessed the motorcycle travelling along the A548 prior to the collision to contact us as soon as possible.<\/p>\n “We also urge anybody who may have dash cam or CCTV footage that may show the moments leading up to the collision to please come forward.\u201d<\/p>\n The road remains closed, and diversions are in place.<\/p>\n Officers have thanked motorists and the local community for their patience.<\/p>\n Anybody who may be able to assist with the ongoing investigation is asked to contact North Wales Police via its website or by calling 101, quoting reference number 25000837528.<\/p>\n Get daily breaking news<\/strong> updates on your phone by joining our WhatsApp community here<\/a>.
