A mum was left baffled by the contents of colouring book she bought for her two-year old child (stock image)<\/p>\n
A mum<\/a> has shared her alarm online at the odd illustrations she found in a B&M<\/a> colouring book after she was forced to “vet” the pages before handing it to her young child. Aimee, who said she bought the book from a charity shop, revealed on Reddit<\/a>: “This colouring book from B&M – honestly it’s a game of pick your favourite.”<\/p>\n She added: “The really creepy, disturbing stuff? Or the dangerous ‘wrap a ribbon around your face, kids’? Or what about the adults having a really serious conversation?” Relieved she’d given it a once over following her purchase, Aimee continued: “So glad I vetted this before my two-year old got to it!” Whilst admitting she has no idea on the age of ‘Mega Jumbo Colouring Book’, she revealed that she paid 25p for it.<\/p>\n In response to those who questioned whether her images were an AI prank, meanwhile, Aimee went on to share a snap of the book’s barcode, which suggested it was a genuine B&M product at one point in time.<\/p>\n Bizarre pages included a flying bell, a person dressed as a tyre spying on their neighbour through hedge growth, and a girl riding a horse with four human legs. One fellow Reddit user curiously inquired: “Did you rip out those pages and left the rest, (not unsettling ones? ) for your kid to colour?”<\/p>\n To which Aimee replied: “Yeah I’ve ripped them out. I can confirm they were in with the other normal (if bad quality) colouring sheets.”<\/p>\n Elsewhere a baffled Reddit user from overseas questioned: “What’s B&M? This is the stuff of nightmares.” Aimee clarified: “It’s a shop over here in the UK. Does a bit of everything. Homeware, organising, kids toys, gardening etc. Also apparently the creepiest kids colouring books!”<\/p>\n A third individual vented their shock at the book’s content: “What the h**l are these drawings? This colouring book looks like it came straight out of a horror movie, with THE SAME KIND of uncanny factor as Charlie the Choo-Choo. Like, the visuals are weird and unsettling, but yet it doesn’t seem like they were inherently done out of malice.”<\/p>\n Whilst another commenter quipped: “Adam and Eve hiding from God at the end? Diabolical.” Others, however, seemed to appreciate the book’s strange charm, expressing an eagerness to procure a copy.<\/p>\n “Been needing to go B&M for Voltarol but because of back pain I’ve been delaying it,” one person said. “Until now. I’m also going to buy a colouring book.” A second applauded the illustrations, adding: “I love it… for me it’s the suggestion of a story in each one. Like they were taken from actual stories but with no context at all…. bizarre s*** like whatever that is trying to escape down a manhole.”<\/p>\n Whilst a third person couldn’t contain their amusement, responding: “I laughed so hard. I want to see more.
