Estonians and other citizens can drive through the area without a permit, but are not allowed to stop.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Estonian media reported that the Russian unit was made up of about 10 men. While Russian border patrols are normal in the area, it is unusual for them to stand in the middle of the road that is also used by Estonians, media reports said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Interior Minister Igor Taro was quoted as saying Saturday that the Russian soldiers had left the area again. He added that the situation was calm but that the road would remain closed at least until Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">\u201cThere is no direct threat of war. This has been constantly confirmed by the Estonian Defense Forces. The Saatse Boot incident has not changed the situation,&#8221; he was quoted as saying by the daily newspaper Postimees, according to the public broadcaster EER.<\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC TjIXL aGjvy \">Estonia has been on alert for Russian border incursions after <a class=\"zZygg UbGlr iFzkS qdXbA WCDhQ DbOXS tqUtK GpWVU iJYzE \" data-testid=\"prism-linkbase\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/british-intelligence-mi6-russia-war-443df0c37ff2254fcc33d5425e3beaa6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">three Russian fighter aircraft entered its airspace<\/a> without permission last month and stayed there for 12 minutes. <\/p>\n<p class=\"EkqkG IGXmU nlgHS yuUao lqtkC eTIW sUzSN \">A week earlier, Russian drones violated Poland\u2019s airspace in the <a class=\"zZygg UbGlr iFzkS qdXbA WCDhQ DbOXS tqUtK GpWVU iJYzE \" data-testid=\"prism-linkbase\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/russia-nato-members-borders-airspace-violations-4a7d6c3eabf76c82ebaff434401b3331\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">most serious cross-border incident<\/a> involving a NATO member since Russia&#8217;s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
