Manchester United need a solution to their midfield problems, with Ruben Amorim aiming to sign a Premier League<\/a> proven player.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The club was heavily linked to Brighton’s Carlos Baleba in the summer, but a move was ruled out for the Cameroonian.\u00a0<\/p>\n

United have also been linked to Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest and Adam Wharton from Crystal Palace.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A new report from talkSPORT<\/a> has suggested that Wharton wants Champions League football, according to Crystal Palace’s co-owner Steve Parish.\u00a0<\/p>\n

What did Parish say about Wharton’s future?<\/p>\n

Parish spoke on Wharton’s future, with Man United reportedly preparing a\u00a0\u00a360m bid for Wharton next summer.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Parish said, “I think Adam at some point will want to play either in the Champions League with us, if we can make that happen, or probably with another club.<\/p>\n

“He’s an extraordinary talent. I think right now, and I can’t speak for Adam, but I think he’s focused on his time at Crystal Palace.”<\/p>\n

Wharton has been a key player for Palace, with the midfielder turning into one of best midfielders in the Premier League.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Parish continued, “He had a broken season last season with the groin issues that he had that a lot of young players get.<\/p>\n

“I think this season he’s completely focused on putting the games in, getting in the England squad, being a regular for us, and making sure that he can show that Saturday, Sunday, Thursday, Sunday. It’s a difficult program for us right now.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Palace co-owner also commented on the supposed bid that United are planning, saying, “If Manchester United want Adam Wharton, that’s nothing surprising really about that.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“The fact of the matter is he’s got a long contract to run. There’s no pressure on us to do it, and I don’t think there’s any real pressure from the player either.”<\/p>\n
