Two children at the centre of a murder investigation after being found dead at a house<\/a> have been named.<\/p>\n

The murder investigation continues following the ‘horror’ discovery in Staffordshire on Sunday morning (October 12). A 43-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is being questioned by detectives.<\/p>\n

The children, a girl and a boy, aged two and three, who were found unresponsive and with injuries, were later pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n

Two ambulances along with two paramedic officers had been scrambled to an ‘incident’ on Stafford’s Corporation Street just after 7.25am.<\/p>\n

The two victims have now been named by Staffordshire Police as two-year-old Meraj Ul Zahra and three-year-old Abdul Momin Alfaateh.<\/p>\n

The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to previous police contact.<\/p>\n

Detective Inspector Kirsty Oldfield said: \u201cWe are working hard to understand more about what happened leading up to these two children tragically losing their lives.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe ask that people do not speculate at this stage as it is distressing for family and friends and could hinder our enquiries. We understand that this incident may cause concern in the local community. There is no wider threat to the public.”<\/p>\n
