Wexford jockeys had a successful week on the track with notable wins at Galway, Tramore and Downpatrick. Eoin Staples, from Duncormick, teamed up with trainer Cian Collins to secure victory in the two-mile handicap hurdle at Galway on the six-year-old Torquay Road. The 11\/4 favourite, owned by Kevin McConnell, triumphed by half a length, fending off Harpy Eagle, trained by Ray Cody. JJ Slevin also grabbed a win, guiding Paul Collins to victory in the two and three-quarter-mile novice handicap hurdle, with a neck win over Imperial Miss.<\/p>\n
At Tramore, Jordan Gainford partnered with trainer Philip Dempsey to take the two-and-a-half-mile handicap hurdle on the 10\/1 shot Killinure Lass, who won by a comfortable length and a quarter, beating Enda Bolger\u2019s favourite Inthenickoftime.<\/p>\n
Eoin Staples went on to notch his second victory of the week at Downpatrick, riding the four-year-old Barry\u2019s Spirit to a hard-fought half-length win in the two-mile, one-furlong maiden hurdle. Trainer Gavin Cromwell\u2019s stable had a 1-2 finish, with Luker\u2019s Tipple finishing second. Later in the day, Conor Stone-Walsh bagged a double with victories for Ian Donoghue, including a win in the two-and-three-quarter-mile handicap hurdle on Hitthehayson and a five-and-a-half-length triumph on Small Town Hero in the near three-mile handicap chase.<\/p>\n
