Burnley have no plans to sack Scott Parker despite slipping into the Premier League relegation zone, sources have told Football Insider.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Clarets sit 18th in the table with just four points from their first seven games, as well as conceding 15 goals so far.<\/p>\n

Burnley actually got their season off to a decent start<\/a>, beating Sunderland 2-0 in their second game of the campaign as well as drawing 1-1 with Nottingham Forest last month.<\/p>\n

However, Parker\u2019s<\/a> side have now lost five of their last six games in all competitions, leaving them in the drop zone.<\/p>\n

Sources say that Parker is in no danger of being dismissed by Burnley<\/a> as it stands, as he still has a lot of credit in the bank.<\/p>\n

The former West Ham United<\/a> and Tottenham midfielder led the Clarets to a second-place Championship finish last season, as they were pipped to the title by Leeds United<\/a>.<\/p>\n

However, Burnley still managed to pick up 100 points, as well as conceding just 16 goals across the course of the campaign.<\/p>\n

With one of the best defensive records in Europe, the Lancashire side cruised to automatic promotion, with Parker completing the feat for the third time in his career.<\/p>\n

Burnley have a chance in the Premier League<\/p>\n

Burnley are aiming to become the first promoted team in three years to avoid immediate relegation back down to the Championship.<\/p>\n

Last season, Southampton, Ipswich Town<\/a> and Leicester City all suffered the drop, with Luton Town, Burnley and Sheffield United facing the same fate the campaign before.<\/p>\n

However, this term has provided teams coming up from the Championship<\/a> a better chance of remaining in the top-flight.<\/p>\n

With sides like Wolves, West Ham United and Nottingham Forest in disarray, the gap between the two divisions seems to have closed.<\/p>\n

Along with Sunderland and Leeds United, Burnley have a real chance to buck the trend and stay in the Premier League.<\/p>\n
