No one appreciates a button-up shirt more than Meghan Markle<\/a>. She\u2019s seen wearing them often, and one could even argue the style is the hardest-working in her wardrobe\u2014so obviously the Duchess has strong opinions on the best brands to shop.<\/p>\n

With Nothing Underneath The Boyfriend<\/p>\n

Earlier this fall, when I was looking to make a new button-up addition to my wardrobe (one can never have too many!), I naturally decided to turn to Meghan for inspiration. She previously influenced me to get her favorite AYR skinny jeans<\/a>, Bleu Salt T-shirt<\/a>, and Brochu Walker cashmere sweater<\/a>, so I figured she\u2019d know her way around a great button-up. And so, after some research, I landed on the With Nothing Underneath Boyfriend Shirt<\/a>\u2014a style she\u2019s worn several times over the years.<\/p>\n

As I\u2019ve learned, finding the perfect balance between a fitted and relaxed shirt is no easy feat because many either lean too snug or too loose. Oftentimes, you have to buy a size up or down in order to get your preferred fit\u2014but WNU\u2019s Boyfriend Shirt is true to size. It features slightly dropped shoulders and a longer length, giving it a relaxed, oversized feel\u2014without making me look like I\u2019m swimming in it. It\u2019s a true borrowed-from-your-boyfriend oxford, thoughtfully made for women.<\/p>\n

The collar is another a key detail that should not be overlooked. I find that a lot of women\u2019s button-ups tend to look flimsy, or start out as structured and then lose its shape. However, the collar on the WNU shirt is rigid and has a naturally starched look, which gives the piece a polished feel.<\/p>\n

And then there\u2019s the shirt\u2019s fabrication. The Boyfriend is available in many materials, like linen and Tencel lyocell, but I went the classic route with 100 percent poplin. It\u2019s crisp, lightweight, and feels phenomenal on the body\u2014you can\u2019t go wrong.<\/p>\n

I opted for it in sky blue, because if there\u2019s anything I\u2019ve learned from covering Meghan\u2019s style over the years, it\u2019s that you don\u2019t underestimate the power of a light blue button-up. It\u2019s just as timeless as a white one, but I\u2019d say blue even more versatile and flattering. You can wear it formally, dress it casually, mix and match it with different textures and colors\u2014the outfit combinations are endless.<\/p>\n

The lesson here, once again, is: If Meghan recommends something, you listen and take note.<\/p>\n
