A specialist was needed and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/opinion\/five-junior-firpo-replacements-for-daniel-farke-including-gabriel-gudmundsson-and-a-former-leeds-united-star\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Leeds replacing Junior Firpo<\/a>\u00a0was a crucial task for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/tag\/daniel-farke\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Daniel Farke<\/a>\u00a0this summer.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/?p=97634\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gabriel Gudmundsson arrived in a \u00a310.3 million transfer<\/a>\u00a0from Lille, signing a four-year contract with the club. But it was not guaranteed to be the Swede. Now a West Ham United full-back, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/transfers\/leeds-united-add-habib-diarras-21-6m-pal-to-shortlist-after-west-ham-have-bid-turned-down\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">El Hadji Malick Diouf was also on Leeds\u2019 shortlist.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/transfers\/leeds-united-to-target-rasmus-kristensens-brilliant-teammate-to-replace-junior-firpo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Leeds United News <\/strong>also revealed Nathaniel Brown was an option<\/a>. The German international plies his trade with Eintracht Frankfurt alongside Robin Koch and Rasmus Kristensen. The 22-year-old has enjoyed an impressive start to 2025\/26, too.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/GettyImages-2208921729-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Nathaniel Brown has been linked with Leeds after starring for Frankfurt.\" class=\"wp-image-91726\" \/>Photo by Vince Mignott\/DeFodi Images\/DeFodi via Getty ImagesNathaniel Brown\u2019s latest Eintracht Frankfurt price tag<\/p>\n<p><strong>LUN<\/strong>\u2018s information late into the deal regarding Gudmundsson was that Lukas <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/transfers\/leeds-united-use-red-bull-connections-to-go-and-watch-new-junior-firpo-replacement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ullrich, Brown, and Quentin Merlin were also considered by Leeds<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>In the end, they were a trio of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/opinion\/the-six-left-backs-linked-with-leeds-united-including-premier-league-champion-and-two-free-agents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">many linked left-backs with Leeds to replace Firpo<\/a>. But Leeds whittled things down and it was reported <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/transfers\/leeds-united-turn-down-five-left-backs-as-gabriel-gudmundsson-wins-the-race-to-replace-junior-firpo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brown and Gudmundsson both made Leeds\u2019 final shortlist<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He is almost certainly way out of Leeds\u2019 reach now, even if they are delighted with the start Gudmundsson has made to adapting to life as a Premier League player. The German international now has a huge price tag on his head.<\/p>\n<p>Sky Sports Germany\u2019s Florian Plettenberg has the latest on Brown\u2019s situation. He adds that the 22 year-old has had an excellent season and is a new German international.<\/p>\n<p>It now makes more sense that there were reports <a href=\"https:\/\/www.leedsunited.news\/transfers\/arsenal-and-manchester-city-now-want-brilliant-player-leeds-united-considered-in-the-summer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arsenal and Man City considered Brown over the summer<\/a>.
