Mountain rescue teams were called out amid a search for a missing teenager at Holcombe Moor near Bury<\/a> on Sunday night (October 12).<\/p>\n

Greater Manchester Police<\/a> received reports about a missing 13-year-old boy and launched a search of the area, which forms part of the West Pennine Moors.<\/p>\n

Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue, who were called alongside Bolton<\/a> Mountain Rescue teams, search dog teams and the fire service’s drone unit, were first notified at around 7.50pm.<\/p>\n

A statement shared by Bolton Mountain Rescue added: “The team were contacted by Greater Manchester Police with an incident involving a missing 13 year old on Holcombe moor. The team were deployed along with multiple other assets from the region.<\/p>\n

“The moor was surrounded in mist and darkness, and searching began on foot, via drone, and via vehicles.”<\/p>\n

The teenage boy was later found at around 9.30pm near to Red Brook. He was later reunited with his family in Holcombe Village.<\/p>\n

“Thankfully the lost young man was found fairly quickly by a party of two Rossendale MR team members on foot, near to Red Brook. He was assisted back to his family in Holcombe,” the statement added.<\/p>\n

A post shared by Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue read: “Fortunately, at around 21:30 there was a successful find by some of our team members.<\/p>\n
