Hand the Northern Ireland international the keys to Trent Alexander-Arnold\u2019s kingdom, he argues, once a modern Anfield great relocates to sunny Spain.<\/p>\n<p>Bradley, presuming he can make the step up from squad player to starter, could potentially save Liverpool from investing considerable sums in a more established Trent successor. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think he\u2019s done well enough where you would have to go; \u2018You know what? You still buy someone but it might not be a right-back for \u00a340 \u2013 \u00a350 million\u2019,\u201d Carragher argues. \u201cWe might go and buy someone for \u00a325m or a fourth-choice centre-back who can play right-back [instead].<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGive [Bradley] 12 months [to prove himself].\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And reports that Liverpool are keen to bring in Wesley Franca from Flamengo \u2013 potentially for exactly the fee Carragher suggested by the way \u2013 means that Arne Slot is likely to find himself with two up-and-coming right-backs next term, rather than with one clear starter and one obvious understudy.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/GettyImages-2207555670-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Photo by Ruano Carneiro\/Getty Images\" class=\"wp-image-241679\" \/>Photo by Ruano Carneiro\/Getty ImagesWesley Franca update from Brazil as Liverpool target edges closer to Premier League <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rousingthekop.com\/2025\/04\/25\/liverpool-stepping-up-pursuit-of-exceptional-brazil-international-after-agents-spotted-in-meeting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wesley Franca\u2019s representatives were spotted in England<\/a> this week.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rousingthekop.com\/2025\/04\/10\/liverpool-door-open-as-director-admits-25m-trent-alexander-arnold-replacement-will-leave\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Flamengo are \u2018prepared\u2019 for the Liverpool-linked Brazil international\u2019s departure<\/a> \u2013 director Jose Boto explains \u2013 and it appears that Wesley\u2019s camp are now holding face-to-face talks with a number of suitors as the summer window approaches.<\/p>\n<p>Jorge Nicola, one of the most respected reporters in Brazilian football, offers few hints about where the jet-heeled 21-year-old will end up.<\/p>\n<p>He does, however, confirm that discussions are indeed taking place on UK soil with Flamengo holding out for a fee in the region of \u00a325 million.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWesley\u2019s agent travelled to England,\u201d Nicola says. \u201cAnd the reason for the trip has to do with the possibility of the player\u2019s departure in the middle of the year.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWesley\u2019s representatives went to visit clubs that have already approached him to understand first the structure of each of these teams, then the projects of these teams.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFlamengo have already hinted that this is a more or less an obvious negotiation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Givairo Read unlikely as \u2018bullet fast\u2019 Wesley emerges as Reds option<\/p>\n<p>Boto believes that few right-backs across the globe can rival Wesley Franca\u2019s \u2018technical ability and speed\u2019. The Flamengo chief also accepts that, after the club\u2019s prized asset made his senior Brazil debut in March, keeping him beyond the summer is likely to be an impossible task.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c[Wesley] almost left Flamengo in the last two windows,\u201d Nicola adds. \u201cHim staying should guarantee much more money than in previous negotiations. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cFlamengo refused a proposal of 12 million euros and then almost sold him for 18 million euros. At this moment, the conversations are must not be less than 30 million euros.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd, if Wesley\u2019s departure is confirmed, there will need to be a new player [to take his place].\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Wesley, Liverpool have also been linked with Braga\u2019s Roger Fernandes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rousingthekop.com\/2025\/04\/16\/what-arne-slot-said-about-givairo-read-as-liverpool-eye-25m-trent-alexander-arnold-replacement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arne Slot is a big fan of Feyenoord starlet Givairo Read<\/a>, meanwhile. He handed the 19-year-old his debut back in 2024. Read has since signed a new deal, though, at the Dutch giants.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s a very attacking full-back,\u201d South American expert Tim Vickery told\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/talksport.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">talkSPORT<\/a> of Wesley Franca during the January window, when Aston Villa were mentioned. \u201cVery quick. Bullet fast. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut he\u2019s not the greatest defensive full-back.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A work in progress, then.
