A stunning mural dedicated to Oasis<\/a> has been completed in a special Manchester location that holds close significance to the band.<\/p>\n

At the weekend, street artist Pic.One.Art began working<\/a> on a new design paying homage to Liam<\/a> and Noel Gallagher<\/a> on the wall outside the Sifters record shop on Fog Lane in Burnage<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Last year, the exact same wall had already featured a depiction of Oasis<\/a> to coincide with Liam\u2019s shows at Co-op Live, recognising the band\u2019s debut album Definitely Maybe. The shows came before the band announced their 2025 reunion tour – marking their first time on stage together in 16 years.<\/p>\n

Pic.One.Art\u2019s latest creation is based on images of the brothers taken in the 90s by photographer Jill Furmanovsky and has been installed to recognise the 30-year anniversary of Oasis\u2019 second album, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?, which featured the songs Roll With It, Wonderwall, Champagne Supernova and Don’t Look Back in Anger.<\/p>\n

The Burnage vinyl shop was featured in the lyrics for Shakermaker, which appeared on Oasis\u2019 debut album. In the track, Liam sings: \u201cMister Sifter sold me songs when I was just sixteen, now he stops at traffic lights but only when they’re green.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking to the M.E.N. last year,<\/a> owner Pete Howard said the shop was often visited by diehard Oasis fans with some having travelled as far as the likes of South Korea and Japan to see the Gallagher\u2019s childhood location in real life.<\/p>\n

Discussing the impact of the song on his business, Pete said: \u201cI became like a celeb. I was signing autographs and doing selfies in here and have been for the last 30 years.\u201d<\/p>\n

Street artist Pic.One.Art, who has recently also completed a design based on Steve Coogan\u2019s character Alan Partridge, said he worked closely with the shop and the original photographer to make the mural a reality.<\/p>\n

\u201cI approached Mr Sifter about extending the previous mural and he was more than happy with the idea,\u201d the artist explains to the Manchester Evening News. \u201cI also contacted legendary music photographer, Jill Furmanovsky, to see if she would be open to lending me her incredible work.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe talked about ideas of what image to base the mural on and decided a shot from the Wonderwall music video shoot would be a very fitting subject matter for multiple reasons.”<\/p>\n

Pic.One.Art, who created the original Definitely Maybe mural, said he is \u2018really proud\u2019 of the finished result and hopes it will add to the experience for Oasis fans visiting the shop.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wanted to push myself further on this one to get more depth, detail and realism to the best of my ability,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cI’m really happy and proud with the way the mural has turned out and I hope it can bring joy to the community and people who visit Burnage.\u201d<\/p>\n

Asked about the significance of Oasis\u2019 second album and how they have impacted music around the world, the artist added: \u201cTheir second album had such a gigantic impact in British music, as did, Definitely Maybe.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe mural commemorates the 30th anniversary, but I also wanted to complete the mural as a thank you on behalf of the fans for the happiness they have brought the people of Burnage, Manchester, and beyond, for their music and their incredible reunion tour.\u201d<\/p>\n
