Cyriel Dessers continues to take a hammering off Rangers fans after the Ibrox number nine once again came up short in the Scottish Premiership defeat to Hibs.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Whilst Barry Ferguson was left \u2018really angry\u2019<\/a> by yet another abject team display at Ibrox<\/a>, Dessers missed two clearcut first-half opportunities to equalise for Rangers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Cyriel Dessers<\/a> spurned his chances on the day whilst Martin Boyle beat the offside trap to leave Dujon Sterling embarrassed<\/a> and finish with his only opportunity of the 90.<\/p>\n

A lack of ruthlessness in the final third is costing Rangers, despite the likes of Gordon Dalziel railing against criticism of Cyriel Dessers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Dessers is lucky he dodged Saint Etienne<\/a> in January but there\u2019s plenty of chatter regarding what happens next this summer.<\/p>\n

One former Rangers academy<\/a> hitman is tearing up trees down south and could be available for cut-price fee this summer should the Gers be eyeing a replacement.<\/p>\n

Ryan Hardie<\/a> is once again making headlines at Plymouth Argyle as the former Ibrox hitman nets a deadly double to down Norwich City at Home Park.<\/p>\n

The former Rangers hitman, now 28, took his tally to ten for what has been a tough season with the Pilgrims, denting the Canaries\u2019 faint playoff hopes in the process.<\/p>\n

The first saw Hardie beat the offside trap and pluck the ball out of the air before composing himself and cooly finishing on the half volley 24 minutes into the game.<\/p>\n

Less than five minutes later Hardie had a double, the instinctive striker getting the break of the ball at the edge of the six-yard box and dinking it into the far corner.<\/p>\n

Whilst Plymouth have had a challenging season \u2013 the Pilgrims are bottom of the English Championship and six points from safety \u2013 Hardie has now scored six goals in five home games as the striker looks to save Argyle from the drop.<\/p>\n

Should Plymouth be relegated to English League One, Hardie could be available on a cut-price deal with the striker set to enter the final year of his contract this summer.<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t the first time ex-Rangers striker Ryan Hardie has made headlines this season.<\/p>\n

The Scotland hopeful scored the only goal of the game as Plymouth knocked Liverpool out of the FA Cup<\/a> in this season\u2019s shock of the tournament.<\/p>\n

Former Rangers defender Nikola Katic was named Player of the Match<\/a> in the game as Hardie showed his nerve to net the only goal from the spot.<\/p>\n

The hitman has also previously reflected on his time at Ibrox and explains that whilst he \u2018lived the dream\u2019 by scoring for Rangers, leaving the club was the best thing he could\u2019ve done.<\/p>\n

This comes after the hitman famously hit a double on his first ever start for Rangers in a 3-1 win over Dumbarton way back in April 2015.<\/p>\n

\u201dIt\u2019s tough for any young striker to make it at Rangers or Celtic,\u201d Hardie told the Daily Record<\/a> in April 2023.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a cut-throat environment. As a manager you need to win or you\u2019re immediately under pressure. So it must be hard for them to put trust in youngsters. I can see it from both sides now.<\/p>\n

\u201cListen, I\u2019m happy because I lived my dream by scoring for Rangers. I was grateful for the chance. But opportunities are limited there for young strikers.\u201c<\/p>\n

Hardie spent nine years coming through at Rangers but opportunities were sporadic as the Ibrox side tried to navigate the lower tiers of Scottish football.<\/p>\n

After a series of loan moves and a permanent switch to Blackpool, Hardie has been on the English south coast since 2020 and has now scored 72 goals for Plymouth.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
