{"id":500267,"date":"2025-10-15T01:46:32","date_gmt":"2025-10-15T01:46:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/500267\/"},"modified":"2025-10-15T01:46:32","modified_gmt":"2025-10-15T01:46:32","slug":"visit-britain-events-growth-programme-led-to-45-5m-boost-to-economy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/500267\/","title":{"rendered":"Visit Britain Events Growth Programme led to \u00a345.5m boost to economy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>VisitBritain\u2019s programme supporting Britain\u2019s international events industry has resulted in a boost to the economy of \u00a345.5m, with\u00a062 business events supported in 18 cities across the nations and regions.<\/p>\n<p>The VisitBritain Business Events Growth Programme for the 2018-2023 financial years showed that every pound invested in the programme resulted \u00a333 of revenue being generated for the British economy through\u00a0new\u00a0events secured,\u00a0or in\u00a0additional delegate spend\u00a0during this five-year period.<\/p>\n<p>In the financial year 2022-2023, the programme supported a record 27 business events across 14 cities, almost double the number of events in cities supported in 2019-2020.<\/p>\n<p>These events aligned with priority sectors for the UK Government including healthcare and life sciences, technology and innovation, energy transition and environment, advanced manufacturing and education.<\/p>\n<p>VisitBritain CEO Patricia Yates said: \u201cThese results are testament to the importance of our Business Events Growth Programme, both to the industry and to the economy. The evaluation results demonstrate year-on-year growth in business events secured or grown for our cities through the programme.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Since 2022, applicants to the Business Events Growth Programme have been asked to include initiatives of sustainability policies in their event planning.
