To quickly recap: Blake filed a lawsuit against Justin last December, accusing him of sexual harassment and attempting to \u201cdestroy\u201d her image with a targeted smear campaign. Blake was recently named one of Time magazine\u2019s most influential people<\/a> of the year \u2014 and this week, she delivered a speech at the 2025 Time100 Gala.<\/p>\n

Noting that it\u2019s \u201ca significant responsibility\u201d to be described as \u201cinfluential\u201d by Time, Blake said<\/a> during her speech: \u201cHow we use that matters. Who and what we stand up for, and what we stay silent about, what we monetize versus what we actually live, matters.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI have so much to say about the last two years of my life, but tonight is not the forum,\u201d she said, seemingly referencing her legal battle. \u201cWhat I will speak to separately is the feeling of being a woman who has a voice today.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd since I could speak, because of the pain, caution, and fight of the many women who have paved the way, and the men who stood beside them,\u201d she said as she turned towards her husband, Ryan Reynolds<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy life was influenced most by my mother, who is sitting here tonight \u2014 Willie Elaine McAlpin,\u201d Blake said. Noting that her mother was a \u201csurvivor of the worst crime someone can commit against a woman,\u201d Blake continued, \u201cI\u2019ve watched her conceal her raw and undeserved shame my entire life, so as her daughter, being asked to share this today is monumental\u2026If we name it, we change it. Just as our fellow Time100 honoree, the incredible Gis\u00e8le Pelicot<\/a>, put it to every woman who understood: It\u2019s not for us to have shame. It\u2019s for them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Blake later added, \u201cWe don’t let our daughters know, but one day we break their hearts by letting them in on the secret that we kept from them as they pranced around in princess dresses that they are not and will likely never be safe at work, at home, in a parking lot in a medical office, online \u2014 in any space they inhabit physically, emotionally, professionally.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cNever underestimate a woman’s ability to endure pain,\u201d she added, describing the \u201csuperpower of female triumph\u201d as a \u201cbasic human right.\u201d<\/p>\n
