One of Bristol’s popular music<\/a> venues has undergone a rebrand this evening (Friday, April 25) with a new name and new plans to bring some of the ‘biggest acts’ to the city.<\/p>\n SWX on Nelson Street has had many a name over the years – Syndicate being the most recent we all remember – but will now be known as ‘Electric Bristol’ and is the latest venue from Electric Group, dubbed ‘the UK’s fastest growing music venue operator behind iconic spaces like Electric Brixton and NX Newcastle’.<\/p>\n The Bristol venue is hoped to become a landmark events<\/a> space for the South West, according to the team behind the rebrand.<\/p>\n Famous for its live gigs – which are confirmed to be continuing – Electric Bristol will also host an eclectic programme of club nights in collaboration with an array of promoters, brands and labels across dance genres, as a means of complementing the live diary.<\/p>\n The venue has had a new major investment in stage production, and will boast its unique ballroom layout, stage, ‘unbeatable sight lines and acoustics’, and a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system.<\/p>\n It comes following the Electric Group’s successful refurbishment and reimagination of the former O2 Academy in Newcastle, as NX (described as being the ‘leading music and club events space in the North East).<\/p>\n And, like the Northern venue, Electric Group say they hope to bring the biggest dance acts to the new Electric Bristol<\/a>.<\/p>\n CEO and co-founder of Electric Group, Dominic Madden, said: “It\u2019s so important that music venues evolve with the times, and we are committed to putting the artist and fan, front and centre of what we do.<\/p>\n “The rebranding of SWX as Electric Bristol is a natural progression for the iconic Nelson Street building and we look forward to [Electric Group’s head of music] Mike Weller\u2019s unique, curated approach to late night programming and continuing to host all those amazing gigs for which the building is now so famous.”<\/p>\n Mike added: “The venue\u2019s upcoming live programming includes a diverse range of artists and events, from the much-anticipated Dot 2 Dot Festival to performances by acclaimed acts such as Magdalena Bay, Waxahatchee, Blondshell, Nova Twins, and many more.<\/p>\n “We have a very exciting programme of club events and I look forward to announcing this over the summer, to launch in September 2025.”<\/p>\n At 5pm this evening (Friday, April 25) the SWX website changed to the new ‘Electric Bristol’ name and branding.<\/p>\n Eagle-eyed fans of the music<\/a> venue may have noticed that its Instagram page and all of its social media profiles and channels changed earlier in the day.<\/p>\n![](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/1_JB_BRI_260220SWX-05JPG.jpg\")
