A person has died following an incident on a railway track between two major Birmingham<\/a> stations.<\/p>\n The incident took place at Marston Green<\/a> Railway Station, between Birmingham New Street<\/a> and Birmingham International stations, the latter servicing Birmingham Airport<\/a> and the NEC<\/a>, shortly before midday on Wednesday (October 15).<\/p>\n Emergency services were alerted to a person, ‘believed to be a man’, on the tracks.<\/p>\n Read more: Birmingham train delays live after person dies in railway tragedy<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service<\/a> said: \u201cWe were called to Marston Green Station, Holly Lane, Birmingham at 11.48am following reports of an incident on the railway line.<\/p>\n \u201cAn ambulance and two paramedic officers responded. Sadly a pedestrian was confirmed deceased on scene.\u201d<\/p>\n Get the latest BirminghamLive news direct to your inbox<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n British Transport Police said its officers attended the incident but it is not being treated as suspicious.<\/p>\n A spokesman for the transport force said: \u201cOfficers were called at around 11.50am today (15 October) to reports of a casualty on the tracks at Marston Green Railway Station.<\/p>\n \u201cOfficers responded with paramedics, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n \u201cThe incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.\u201d<\/p>\n Read more: Face of XL Bully owner whose pets savaged man to death<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n The incident has led to the closure of the line between the two Birmingham stations.<\/p>\n West Midlands Railway which runs services on the line between Birmingham New Street and Birmingham International has given options for passengers and advice on how to claim for delays.<\/p>\n It confirmed its tickets were being accepted on alternative services including between Birmingham Moor Street and London Marylebone and with CrossCountry between Birmingham New Street and Coventry.<\/p>\n
