An aircraft carrying US secretary of war Pete Hegseth<\/a> back to the US from Nato<\/a> talks in Brussels<\/a> had to make an \u201cunscheduled landing\u201d in the UK after suffering a cracked windshield.<\/p>\n

Sean Parnell, chief Pentagon<\/a> spokesman, confirmed the plane landed without issue and the crew and passengers, including Mr Hegseth, were safe onboard.<\/p>\n

He posted on X: \u201cOn the way back to the United States from NATO\u2019s Defense Ministers meeting, Secretary of War Hegseth\u2019s plane made an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom due to a crack in the aircraft windshield.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe plane landed based on standard procedures and everyone onboard, including Secretary Hegseth, is safe.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr Hegseth also posted: \u201cAll good. Thank God<\/a>. Continue mission!\u201d<\/p>\n

The aviation news website Airlive reported that the Boeing C-32A \u2013 a military version of the Boeing 757 \u2013 was about 30 minutes into the flight when it suffered a \u201cdepressurisation issue\u201d.<\/p>\n

It went on to land at RAF Mildenhall in Suffolk at about 7.10pm.<\/p>\n
