Ruben Amorim ensured his job security wasn\u2019t a hot topic in the international break by winning a game just before it, but the clouds continue to hover. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Sir Jim Ratcliffe gave him a strong backing<\/a>, but that really means nothing in the grand scheme<\/a> of things, especially if Man Utd find themselves in the bottom half before the November break. <\/p>\n

Amidst such confusion and indecision, the talk around his replacements has gathered pace, with everyone from Oliver Glasner to Xavi and Andoni Iraola mentioned at different points. <\/p>\n

With no outstanding candidate emerging to unify Man Utd fans<\/a>\u2018 opinion, the club have been told that there\u2019s a \u2018top\u2019 manager who could be on the market soon. <\/p>\n

Thomas Tuchel<\/a> is not a name that is out of left field when it comes to a potential Man Utd manager<\/a>. <\/p>\n

It is an open secret that Ineos negotiated extensively with Tuchel<\/a> when they were pondering whether to sack Erik ten Hag after the FA Cup win. <\/p>\n

That didn\u2019t happen, and Tuchel is now the England manager<\/a>, but with the World Cup on the horizon next year, anything can happen after that.<\/p>\n

Darren Bent, speaking on Talksport, said Tuchel\u2019s name could come up for the job again, especially if Amorim\u2019s fate is decided at the end of the season.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cYeah, [Thomas Tuchel] is someone who is obviously a top manager. I think he\u2019s a manager who wouldn\u2019t shrink under pressure at Old Trafford either. So there\u2019s no reason why not. I think he\u2019s a manager who can adapt. He\u2019s won big trophies.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tuchel would go against Ineos\u2019 vision<\/p>\n

Everything about Ineos so far has screamed about a decision-making process desperate for long-term success. <\/p>\n

Tuchel, for all his qualities, has never shown the ability or desire to stay at a club for a long time, which is what made Ruben Amorim<\/a> attractive to Ineos in the first place. <\/p>\n

More importantly, if Tuchel is available immediately after the World Cup, it likely means something has gone very wrong for him. <\/p>\n

United have been here before when they hired Jose Mourinho. He was a big name with a pedigree, but on a career downslide when he joined the club. <\/p>\n

The club shouldn\u2019t go for another manager who would likely be coming off a failed job.
