The announcement comes less than three weeks before the event was due to take place.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"dailyrecord\">On Tuesday, October 14, organisers of Fawkes Festival in <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dailyrecord.co.uk\/all-about\/edinburgh\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"EdinburghLink opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">Edinburgh<\/a> revealed that the festival will be taking a &#8220;planned pause&#8221; this year. The event, which was due to be held at the Royal Highland Centre at Ingliston on November 2, will return in 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"dailyrecord\">Fawkes Festival is described <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fawkesfestival.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\"on its website Link opens in a new tab.\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">on its website <\/a>as the &#8220;largest bonfire and fireworks event&#8221; in the country. Last year, the event welcomed approximately 15,000 visitors from across Scotland and beyond.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"dailyrecord\">In a statement, organisers of the festival said that the cancellation will be &#8220;disappointing news&#8221;. Those who previously purchased a ticket will receive a refund within five to 10 working days.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"dailyrecord\">The statement reads: &#8220;Fawkes Festival is taking a planned pause in 2025 as part of a long-term strategy to further develop and enhance the event experience. While interest and support have been incredibly strong, the rising costs of delivering the scale, creativity, and experience we\u2019ve envisioned have made it challenging to bring the event to life in the way it truly deserves.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"dailyrecord\">&#8220;We remain fully committed to the high standards our audience expects and rather than compromise on quality, we\u2019re taking this time to pause, reassess, and reimagine how we bring Fawkes Festival to life \u2014at a level that\u2019s both extraordinary and accessible.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"dailyrecord\">&#8220;We understand this will be disappointing news to those who had bought tickets and were planning to come along. Among the acts set to perform at the festival were Ibiza In Symphony, Bombskare, Ben Walker, and Cal and Ally.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \" data-tmdatatrack=\"content-unit\" data-tmdatatrack-type=\"paragraph\" publication=\"dailyrecord\">Additionally, the festival was set to include a number of funfair rides and lasers.
