Wes Streeting was wheeled out to endorse the idea, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.com\/uk\/politics\/article\/wes-streeting-brexit-rache-reeves-farage-tax-budget-r30sjm5nv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Times<\/a>\u00a0carrying a well-sourced briefing on the plan last month. A gleeful Streeting told the media he is happy Labour can now speak about the \u201cproblems\u201d of Brexit\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Streeting told a literary festival this month:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s part of it. There\u2019s no doubt that that\u2019s the other problem we\u2019re dealing with. I\u2019m glad that Brexit is a problem whose name we now dare speak.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As Guido <a href=\"https:\/\/order-order.com\/2025\/10\/14\/starmers-invisible-comms-chief-avoids-talking-to-departments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> yesterday, Allan is already ruffling feathers for avoiding talking to government departments. As for his grand plan, the vote to leave the EU was of course almost ten years ago. Labour has been running the economy for more than a year.
