Before its debut, the movie was also plagued by controversies concerning Miller’s personal and legal issues. It served as one of the final DCEU movies before James Gunn officially rebooted the franchise into the DC Universe in 2024.

What did The Flash director say about the Ezra Miller movie?

During a recent interview on the Bingeworthy podcast, Muschietti shared his thoughts on The Flash’s disappointing box office performance and negative fan reception, revealing that he’s still very much proud of the work they’ve done on the film.

“We just moved on and understood that sometimes there’s a headwind and a project that you dedicated a lot of work to. And we’re very proud of it. I think it’s a good movie,” He said. “A lot of people did not see it. But you know how things are these days — people don’t see things, but they like to talk s*** about it, and they like to jump on bandwagons. They don’t really know. People are angry for reasons that are unrelated to these things.”

In addition, Muschietti also briefly acknowledged Miller’s controversies, admitting that it did affect the public’s perception of the movie. “Of course, we had a publicity crisis with Ezra that is undeniable,” He continued. “And I’m not questioning that. But yeah, we love the movie. And actually, we really recommend it.”

Muschietti also expressed how grateful he is towards Warner Bros. for believing in the movie, despite the bad publicity it received before its debut.

He added, “This may seem immaterial now, but we also had so much support from the studio, really, at a point where they could have been like, you know, backing out because of all the issues we were having with publicity. And they went all in, and we all went all in. And again, we love the movie. We, you know, we gave it our blood, sweat, and tears all the way to the end. And I watched it, like a week ago, and loved it again.”

The Flash movie was directed by Andy Muschietti (IT: Welcome to Derry) from a screenplay written by Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey). The film also starred Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, Sasha Calle as Supergirl, and Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, with Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck reprising their respective versions of Bruce Wayne/Batman. It currently holds a decent Popcornmeter score of 81% on Rotten Tomatoes.

(Source: The Playlist)

The Flash director Andy Muschietti has finally opened up about Warner Bros.’ Ezra Miller-led superhero movie, which received…

[3935
164937,32017,164938,77,164939,16280,3943,164940,16,15,1082
0":"post-503355","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-movies","8":"tag-andy-muschietti","9":"tag-dc","10":"tag-dceu","11":"tag-entertainment","12":"tag-ezra-miller","13":"tag-movie-news","14":"tag-movies","15":"tag-the-flash","16":"tag-uk","17":"tag-united-kingdom","18":"tag-warner-bros
["GET
