Liverpool Empire is set to welcome a huge stage show as it heads out on its first ever world tour. Moulin Rouge! The Musical is heading to the Liverpool Empire with shows across a five week period in 2026. The glamorous stage show<\/a> is based on Baz Luhrmann\u2019s award-winning film MOULIN ROUGE! which premiered at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The show, which is set in Paris in 1899, follows the love story of Christian and Satine. Christian is a penniless American writer, whereas Satine is the dazzling star of the Moulin Rouge nightclub<\/a>.<\/p>\n

When their lives collide at the Moulin Rouge, they fall in love, only to be thwarted by the nightclub\u2019s host and impresario, Harold Zidler, and The Duke of Monroth, the wealthy and entitled patron of the club who thinks he can buy anything he wants, including Satine.<\/p>\n

Together with his Bohemian friends \u2013 Christian stages a musical spectacular in an attempt to save the Moulin Rouge and win the heart of Satine.<\/p>\n

As in the film, Moulin Rouge! The Musical celebrates over 160 years of music \u2013 from Offenbach to Lady Gaga. The stage musical features over 70 iconic songs, many from the movie as well as recent hits released since the movie premiered over 20 years ago.<\/p>\n

When is Moulin Rouge! The Musical on at the Liverpool Empire Theatre?<\/p>\n

The Musical is heading to the Liverpool Empire with shows across a five week period in 2026. The show will run from Thursday, July 2 until Saturday, August 8 2026.<\/p>\n

When are tickets on sale?<\/p>\n

General sale tickets will become available on the ATG website at 12pm on Friday, October 17. For group bookings of 10 people or more, a request must be submitted through the ATG website or alternatively call 0207061174.<\/p>\n

Age attendance is 12+ and guests are warned about strobe lighting during the show. The show will last two hours and 45 minutes including an interval.<\/p>\n

How much are tickets?<\/p>\n

Tickets start from approximately \u00a320, according to the ATG website.
