Daniil Medvedev took some time to speak about two of the ATP\u2019s top young talents.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Russian has been on the tour for the better part of the last decade and has seen plenty of players come and go during that time.<\/p>\n

The 29-year-old has been one of the most consistent players in that time and he has 20 championship titles to show for it.<\/p>\n

Now a new wave of players are looking to make their way in the game and Daniil Medvedev<\/a> is expecting big things from them.<\/p>\n

Medvedev has been watching the progress of Learner Tien<\/a> and Joao Fonseca<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The two teenagers contested the final of the ATP Next Gen Finals<\/a> in December 2024 and they have carried that momentum into 2025.<\/p>\n

Both players have claimed some big wins this season and they are playing with no fear and enjoying their time out on court.<\/p>\n

Tien became the youngest player since Rafael Nadal<\/a> to reach the fourth round of the Australian Open<\/a>, while Fonseca won his first ATP title at the Argentina Open<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Medvedev thinks the future is bright for the pair and expects them to at least become future top 10 players. I\u2019m pretty sure both of them will make the Top 10 at some point,\u201d the 2021 US Open<\/a> champion said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhether they\u2019ll be No. 1 for 220 weeks or stay in the Top 10, though, is something only time will tell. Tennis is a tough sport with so much competition.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fonseca and Tien could have the makings of a compelling rivalry on the ATP Tour<\/a>.<\/p>\n

They played two competitive matches at the Next Gen ATP Finals, and their first ATP Tour battle came at the Miami Open<\/a>.<\/p>\n

So far Fonseca has won each match, but their contrast in styles has made for a compelling matchup. Highlighting the difference between their games, Medvedev said: \u201cThere are a lot of strong guys coming up. I think it\u2019s a very talented generation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll see how it unfolds though, it is early stages and hard to predict. If I compare Learner and Joao, they\u2019re two different types of players. Learner is more of a counter-attacking player, but still able to attack with intelligence.<\/p>\n

\u201cJoao is, of course, also very smart, but his game is about pure power. You see some of the forehands he unleashes.
