{"id":504251,"date":"2025-10-16T13:32:14","date_gmt":"2025-10-16T13:32:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/504251\/"},"modified":"2025-10-16T13:32:14","modified_gmt":"2025-10-16T13:32:14","slug":"simon-jordan-praises-john-henry-after-fsg-hit-15-year-landmark-at-liverpool","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/504251\/","title":{"rendered":"Simon Jordan praises John Henry after FSG hit 15-year landmark at Liverpool"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Simon Jordan has always seemed to be rather fond of Liverpool. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The former Crystal Palace chairman has often lauded the way things have been done at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rousingthekop.com\/club\/anfield-stadium-information\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Anfield<\/a>, with him also being rather impressed at the transfers they made in the summer. <\/p>\n<p>However, none of this would be possible without <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rousingthekop.com\/tag\/fenway-sports-group\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fenway Sports Group<\/a> taking over and saving Liverpool from the brink of administration. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"40\" height=\"40\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/mail.png\" alt=\"mail icon\"\/>Join our newsletter for news &amp; smart analysis. <\/p>\n<p>Of course, there have been times when mistakes have been made, but more often than not during their decade-and-a-half in charge, FSG have done the club well. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/GettyImages-1167053123-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"John Henry pictured in attendance during a Premier League game between Liverpool and Norwich City.\" class=\"wp-image-236813\" \/>Photo by Michael Regan\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>And now, the American businessmen have owned Liverpool for 15 years, Jordan has reflected on what they\u2019ve managed to achieve and whether he thinks they\u2019ve done a good job. <\/p>\n<p>Simon Jordan thinks FSG have done a great job with Liverpool<\/p>\n<p>As mentioned, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rousingthekop.com\/club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Liverpool<\/a> were in a bad way before FSG took over. <\/p>\n<p>Indeed, there have been times when it\u2019s just felt like doom and gloom, but the last few years have shown how much of an impact they\u2019ve actually had on the club. <\/p>\n<p>And, now that they\u2019ve been in charge for 15 years, fans have been reflecting on the memories that have been created with Jordan, now saying that they\u2019ve \u201cdone very well\u201d during their stint. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cJohn Henry, while not being the most vociferous of characters, has routinely employed very good CEOs,\u201d Jordan said on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=wkvDCb6_AXU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">talkSPORT<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhether it\u2019s Ian Ayre, or Peter Moore, or whether it\u2019s on the other side of the business, whether it\u2019s other people that his management team have put into place, and player recruitment, which is the biggest spend they\u2019ve got.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that\u2019s what the report would say that they\u2019ve done very well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Liverpool\u2019s new summer signings need to pick up their performances<\/p>\n<p>As mentioned, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rousingthekop.com\/2025\/07\/01\/simon-jordan-and-jermaine-jenas-in-complete-agreement-over-harvey-elliotts-liverpool-future\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jordan was impressed with Liverpool\u2019s transfer business<\/a> in the summer. <\/p>\n<p>At the moment, however, most of their new arrivals have failed to live up to expectations, with some starting to question why\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rousingthekop.com\/2025\/09\/01\/fabrizio-romano-clarifies-whether-liverpool-will-pay-125m-or-130m-for-alexander-isak\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Liverpool spent \u00a3125m on Alexander Isak<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s still early in the season, of course, and there\u2019s plenty of time for things to turn around, but with the way that everything seems to be panning out, unless they turn around their performances soon, their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rousingthekop.com\/tag\/premier-league\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Premier League<\/a> title hopes could be crushed. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/GettyImages-2216538686-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"Liverpool's Dutch striker Cody Gakpo celebrates with the Premier League trophy during an open-top bus victory parade for Liverpool's Premier League title win, in Liverpool\" class=\"wp-image-247284\" \/>Photo by PAUL ELLIS\/AFP via Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>Isak isn\u2019t the only one guilty of not living up to expected standards, either, as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rousingthekop.com\/2025\/10\/07\/alan-shearer-claims-40m-man-has-actually-become-a-worse-player-since-signing-for-liverpool\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez have also been under fire<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>For now, there\u2019s no need for fans to worry, but if they don\u2019t beat Manchester United on Sunday, some serious questions will have to be asked. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Simon Jordan has always seemed to be rather fond of Liverpool.
