A man has appeared charged with attempted murder after a ‘hit and run’ near the home of a member of the notorious Daniel crime clan<\/a> in Glasgow.<\/p>\n

A 51-year old pedestrian<\/a> was rushed to hospital after allegedly being struck by the vehicle on Dalsetter Avenue in Drumchapel on Monday, October 13.<\/p>\n

Mark Philip Hughes, 49, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court <\/a>today charged with attempted murder, assault to injury and to the danger of life. He was also charged with failing to stop and report an accident.<\/p>\n

He made no plea, was committed for further examination<\/a> and remanded in custody.<\/p>\n

He is expected to appear<\/a> again within eight days.<\/p>\n

The incident<\/a> came after a man was rushed to hospital in a separate nearby attack on Friday.<\/p>\n

The house of Kelly Bo Green, widow of gangster Kevin ‘Gerbil’ Carroll, on Drumchapel Road<\/a> was raided by cops following the incident.<\/p>\n

Officers in forensic suits<\/a> were seen combing Kelly Bo’s property before removing two dogs.<\/p>\n

Images taken on Tuesday, showed Drumchapel Road remained taped off after cops scoured the scene for clues.<\/p>\n

The condition and age of the man who was attacked<\/a> is not currently known.<\/p>\n

Kelly Bo<\/a> is the daughter of late crime lord Jamie Daniel and the cousin of now family boss Steven ‘Bonzo’ Daniel.<\/p>\n

In May, the Record reported her home was targeted by firebomb hoods as part of a gangland turf war, while her and Gerbil’s<\/a> youngest son was inside.<\/p>\n

An underworld source said at the time: “Gerbil’s boy was in the house when this happened. The Daniel family are priority targets in the gang war and this particular attack will have made a lot of people smile all across Scotland.<\/p>\n

“Gerbil was a bully and a thief and made so many enemies so a lot of people will be happy to see this happen.
