Rosie O\u2019Donnell wasn\u2019t a fan of having Keanu Reeves on her \u201cRosie O\u2019Donnell Show\u201d back in the late \u201990s.<\/p>\n

How are you feeling?\u2019 [He\u2019d respond] \u2018Good.\u2019 We were live. We couldn\u2019t retape. I finally said after three minutes, \u2018You know, Keanu, it is a talk show. You have to talk.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n That wasn\u2019t the last O\u2019Donnell saw of Reeves, 61, on her set either.<\/p>\n \u201cBut he did come back, and he got the hang of it,\u201d she added, before stressing that the actor is \u201ca lovely man and a good-hearted guy, so I don\u2019t wanna throw him under the bus.\u201d<\/p>\n The Post has reached out to Reeves for comment.<\/p>\n Keanu Reeves on \u201cThe Rosie O\u2019Donnell\u201d show in 1997. Warner Bros.<\/p>\n Barbra Streisand, meanwhile,\u00a0was \u201cprobably\u201d O\u2019Donnell\u2019s \u201cfavorite\u201d guest.\u00a0<\/p>\n And another memorable one was none other than\u00a0Martin Short.<\/p>\n \u201cBecause you come out and say, \u2018How you doing, Marty?\u2019 and it\u2019s over for you,\u201d O\u2019Donnell recalled. \u201cHe stands up and he goes, \u2018I\u2019m here!\u2019 He was the funniest and the nicest guy, so I would say Marty Short was definitely one of the best.\u201d<\/p>\n O\u2019Donnell also looked back on her heated 1999 interview\u00a0with actor\u00a0Tom Selleck, where the pair went head to head over gun laws following the Columbine massacre. <\/p>\n Keanu Reeves and Rosie O\u2019Donnell on her talk show. He had an ad in the magazines that said, \u2018I am the NRA. Shooting teaches children good values.\u2019 And I was so torn up about Columbine that I just didn\u2019t give up. And then, like an innocent idiot, I walked off-stage and said to my staff, \u2018Do you think that\u2019ll get any press?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n O\u2019Donnell then came to blows with\u00a0her \u201cView\u201d co-host\u00a0Elisabeth Hasselbeck, to which Selleck, 80, toldAccess Hollywood <\/a>at the time, \u201cI still like Rosie. If they said, \u2018Please, let\u2019s not talk about my divorce or my recent drug addiction, drug rehab,\u2019 I would do what they asked.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI was not a \u2018get you\u2019 kind of interview, I had no desire to make anyone feel uncomfortable,\u201d she elaborated. \u201cLike\u00a0Johnny Carson\u00a0taught us, if there was egg on anyone\u2019s face, it\u2019s supposed to be on the host, not the guest. So I think no one was expecting that I would challenge someone in the way that I did.\u201d<\/p>\n Earlier this month, O\u2019Donnell got candid on another daytime fight<\/a>, this one with Hasselbeck, 48, in 2007.<\/p>\n The pair got into a heated argument<\/a> over American military activity in the Middle East while live on air. This type of shot was unprecedented in 2007 and became one of the show\u2019s most talked about moments.<\/p>\n O\u2019Donnell now alleges that the argument was set up by the show\u2019s producer.<\/p>\n \u201cI can not believe that this woman, after all I did for her, because when I took that job, I made one commitment to myself, that I was not going to be her enemy, that I was going to meet her as a person,\u201d she said while on the\u00a0\u201cRicki-Lee, Tim & Joel\u201d podcast.<\/a> <\/p>\n Rosie O\u2019Donnell hosting in 1995. \u00a9Warner Bros\/Courtesy Everett Collection<\/p>\n When asked if she knew that the split-screen was taking place, O\u2019Donnell replied: \u201cOf course not.\u201d<\/p>\n But she did claim that the program\u2019s late producer, Bill Geddie, knew that the fight was going to take place.<\/p>\n Geddie, who died in 2023 at age 68, worked on the \u201cView\u201d from its first season 1997 until 2014.<\/p>\n \u201cOur producer is not an on-the-fly kind of guy, he wasn\u2019t mister like, \u2018Let\u2019s go to the split-screen.\u2019 That was prepared. So, the whole thing, I think, was a setup,\u201d O\u2019Donnell alleged.<\/p>\n Hasselbeck, meanwhile, refuted her claims, tearfully saying in an Oct. 9 Instagram Story to \u201cstop the madness\u201d and to \u201cstop the lying.\u201d<\/p>\n \t\t\t\t\t\t
