The former actress had noted in the British Vogue 2019 issue that Michelle Obama was her dear friend. Moreover, her admiration for Barack Obama and his wife seemed to have existed even before she joined the royal family.<\/p>\n

Meghan Markle wants to be the Obamas, says source<\/p>\n

Meghan Markle seems to admire Michelle and Barack Obama and wants her and Prince Harry to be like them. While royal insiders referred to it as an obsession, a source told Rob Shuter<\/a> that the duchess would like to be them. \u201cShe saw them as everything she and Harry aspired to be \u2014 powerful, modern, beloved,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n

A year after marrying Prince Harry, the 44-year-old interviewed her friend and the former first lady, Michelle. She asked the latter questions about motherhood in the 2019 issue of British Vogue. Their bond seemed to strengthen through the chat as Markle, who was a new mom at the time, formed a deep connection with the 61-year-old.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the outlet reported that the \u201cSuits\u201d alum made her admiration evident at the recent Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit. She apparently linked her and the duke\u2019s Netflix deal with the Obamas\u2019 partnership with Higher Ground Productions.\u00a0\u201cMy husband and I were in an overall deal with Netflix then, not dissimilar to Higher Ground and the Obamas\u2019 deal,\u201d she said at the event on Tuesday, per Page Six<\/a>.<\/p>\n
