{"id":507170,"date":"2025-10-17T16:00:11","date_gmt":"2025-10-17T16:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/507170\/"},"modified":"2025-10-17T16:00:11","modified_gmt":"2025-10-17T16:00:11","slug":"germanys-largest-air-hub-gets-a-sparkling-new-terminal-travel-weekly-asia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/507170\/","title":{"rendered":"Germany\u2019s largest air hub gets a sparkling new terminal: Travel Weekly Asia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Frankfurt Airport has announced the confirmed opening dates of its third terminal, pegged for 22 April 2026.<\/p>\n<p>In this last lap ahead of inaugurations, about 8,000 test passengers will put the terminal through its paces for 21 days between January to April.<\/p>\n<p>Once open, the new terminal will be able to handle up to 19 million passengers a year. Some 57 airlines currently based in Terminal 2 will be shifted to Terminal 3, in four phases between mid-April and early June.<\/p>\n<p>Frankfurt Airport is Germany\u2019s largest airport, and one of the leading air traffic hubs in Europe, receiving approximately 61.6 million passengers in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The international airport is also one of the adopters of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.travelweekly-asia.com\/Travel-News\/Government\/Europe-s-new-entry-exit-scheme-begins\" title=\"https:\/\/www.travelweekly-asia.com\/Travel-News\/Government\/Europe-s-new-entry-exit-scheme-begins\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">new European Entry\/Exit System (EES)<\/a>, which came into effect on 12 October last week.
