While major institutions are feeding into<\/a> anti-LGBTQ+ sentiment, Snoop Dogg is doing the opposite. The rapper faced criticism earlier this year for complaining that he was \u201cscared to go to the movies<\/a>\u201d because his grandson had questions about the same sex couple in Lightyear<\/a>. So Snoop decided to answer those questions with a new song \u201cLove Is Love,\u201d released as part of his animated kids\u2019 series Doggyland on YouTube.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cLove Is Love\u201d was made in partnership with GLAAD for Spirit Day, an \u201canti-bullying movement\u201d which organizes \u201cthousands of celebrities, influential voices, news & media outlets, tv & film studios, brands & corporations, landmarks, sports leagues, tech leaders, influencers, faith groups and so many more to go purple and support LGBTQ youth by creating clear possibility models for them to thrive and be represented in the world,\u201d per the GLAAD website<\/a>. \u201cOur parents are different \/ No two are the same \/ But the one thing that\u2019s for certain is the love won\u2019t change,\u201d the canines of Doggyland explain in the new song. \u201cFamilies are special \/ They are so unique \/ Everybody\u2019s got a purpose, more than what you see \/ We love you, parents \/ We love you so.\u201d<\/p>\n

In conjunction with the song release, Snoop Dogg also released a conversation with Death Row Records artist Jeremy Beloate (an openly queer musician who competed on Snoop\u2019s team on The Voice). In it, the rapper referenced the fact that \u201cLove Is Love\u201d more or less solves the issue<\/a> that had him so freaked out with Lightyear. \u201cIt\u2019s teaching parenthood. It\u2019s teaching situations that kids in the world is going through right now in a beautiful way through song, dance, melody, just trying to get more clarity on how we live and the way we live. And I felt like this music is a beautiful bridge to bringing understanding,\u201d he said. \u201cThese are things that kids have questions about so now hopefully we can help answer these questions and help them to live a happy life and understand that love is love.\u201d<\/p>\n
