Based on the book by Charles Dickens, this production of the timeless Christmas classic is a new adaptation by Aisha Khan and will be directed by Elin Schofield.<\/p>\n<p>Joining Schofield and Khan in the creative team will be Associate Director Alex Pritchett, Co-Designers Rose Revitt and Kevin Jenkins, Movement Director and Choreographer Aline David, Lighting Designer Richard Howell, Composer and Arranger Matthew Malone, Sound Designer Gareth Fry, Music Supervisor Natalie Pound, Casting Director Juliet Horsley CDG, Illusion Designer John Bulleid, Associate Illusion Designer Sam Lupton, Assistant Director Verity Richards, Wigs, Hair and Make-Up Manager Helen Russell with Wigs, Hair and Make-Up Design by Campbell Young Associates, and Vocal Coach Timothy Peters.<\/p>\n<p>Leading the cast as Ebenezer Scrooge is Sheffield Theatres newcomer Ian Midlane, amidst actors returning to Sheffield Theatres as well as some who are making their Sheffield Theatres debut.<\/p>\n<p>Aaron Anthony returns following a performance in\u00a0A Doll\u2019s House to play Fred and Edward. Mel Lowe also returns following a performance in\u00a0A Doll\u2019s House and before that in\u00a0Standing at the Sky\u2019s Edge\u00a0during its West End run \u2013 they will play the role of Jack. Adam Price was also seen in Standing at the Sky\u2019s Edge in the West End, as well as during its runs at the Crucible and National Theatre. Price will appear as the Ghost of Christmas Present. Anthony Ofoegbu was last in Sheffield in Barbershop Chronicles\u00a0and will take on the role of Jacob Marley. Ryan O\u2019Donnell made his professional acting debut in Shadow Mouth at the Tanya Moiseiwitsch Playhouse, formerly the Studio, in 2006. He returns nearly 20 years later to play Bob Cratchit and Young Ebenezer.<\/p>\n<p>Karen Wilkinson appeared in\u00a0Standing at the Sky\u2019s Edge\u00a0in the West End, but is set to make her Sheffield debut as a Swing, alongside Simon Whitaker, previously seen in\u00a0The Phantom of the Opera,\u00a0who also makes his Sheffield Theatres debut.<\/p>\n<p>Other cast members making their Sheffield Theatres debuts are Kimberly Blake (Natasha, Pierre and The Great Comet of 1812)\u00a0as Mrs Cratchit, Young Ebenezer\u2019s Mother and Laundress; Lucy Brindle (The Crucible)\u00a0as Isobel and Charwoman; Nitai Levi\u00a0(As You Like It)\u00a0as the Ghost of Christmas Past and Kiah Lindsay, making their professional debut, as Little Fan and Martha.<\/p>\n<p>All other roles will be played by members of the aforementioned cast, alongside a young company of twelve who will perform in groups of four across the run.<\/p>\n<p>Featuring the Sheffield Carols \u2013 rooted in the city\u2019s communities, Sheffield has kept this choral tradition alive over decades of change \u2013 redemption, heart and festive spirit shine in Charles Dickens\u2019 timeless tale.<\/p>\n<p>A Christmas Carol\u00a0runs from 29 November 2025 to 10 January 2026.
