But more recently her career has gone in a different direction.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pt-dp-p font-text-light font-light text-lg leading-normal tracking-wide mb-base last:mb-0\" itemprop=\"text\">In 2024 she founded the high-end British perfume house Jouissance, after training under the renowned French perfumer Antoine Lie. However, her study of art history and theory still comes to the fore; the name comes from the writings of the French feminist H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Cixous, who used it to describe a form of women\u2019s sexual pleasure that is a source of her creative energy. The brand\u2019s first three fragrances are inspired by female writers of erotic fiction: Ana\u00efs Nin, Anne Desclos and Catherine Millet. One of them, En Plein Air, is described on Jouissance\u2019s website as perfect for those who want to \u201csmell like an unassuming art critic on her way to an\u00a0orgy\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pt-dp-p font-text-light font-light text-lg leading-normal tracking-wide mb-base last:mb-0\" itemprop=\"text\">Based in London, Cheng is an avid art collector and patron, supporting institutions including the Serpentine, Studio Voltaire and the Institute of Contemporary Arts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"pt-dp-p font-text-light font-light text-lg leading-normal tracking-wide mb-base last:mb-0\" itemprop=\"text\"><strong class=\"font-text-medium font-medium\">The Art Newspaper: What was the first work you ever bought?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"pt-dp-p font-text-light font-light text-lg leading-normal tracking-wide mb-base last:mb-0\" itemprop=\"text\">Cherry Cheng: Gray Sister by Tancredi di Carcaci, from [art adviser] Daniel Malarkey. The pair of them are currently exhibited at Anastasia\u2019s solo\u00a0show at Hot Wheels\u2019s new space at\u00a0TOSITSA3 in Athens\u2014a very beautiful, restored building that just opened this summer. The gallery inaugurated the space by hosting some\u00a0of my favourite London galleries\u2014Brunette Coleman, Emalin, a. I usually know if I want something right away and I always trust my instincts. I didn\u2019t know the gallery then and somehow missed it on the first day. It feels like\u00a0such an honour, and I\u2019m very excited about it. Also, Jago Rackham is staging a weekend-long durational\u00a0dining performance at Young Space. He will serve grand dishes to his chosen guests, the \u201cgreedies\u201d, in a fictive mise-en-sc\u00e8ne that blurs the line between feast and\u00a0performance, featuring collaborating artists including Issy Wood, Faye Wei Wei and Hamish Pearch.
